Rough around the edges: Former Smiths record label manager talks about his latest batch of Irish acts

"The first question you must of course ask Geoff Travis is what he thinks of Morrissey’s ongoing descent into far-right notoriety. Back in 1980s Travis discovered The Smiths and, with his record label Rough Trade, helped propel Moz toward gladioli-flourishing immortality. How long ago that must seem — how bittersweet the memories.

“Not bitter, no,” says Travis. “It was one of those periods that went by in a flash. Morrissey wasn’t the person he now seems to be. He was an interesting character to be around. As a band, The Smiths were an unstoppable force. A lot of years have gone by. I don’t think I’d recognise the Morrissey of today. It’s sad what he’s become, in terms of his views.”"

These morons all want open border nonsense. It's actually insane but Morrissey isn't bowing to pressure to speak what is true

There is no problem - you are expecting instantaneous post approval and that isn't always possible.
Which is why you see several posts appear at once.
The best way to circumvent that is to register. If that suggestion is of no use, then you will have to occasionally wait.
I wouldn't take someone dealing with a queue of posts too personally - as it is not just you affected.
      Regards,
      FWD.

Don’t carry yourself on with me this morning son, I’m up to 90 with trying to get a post on here in the first place .... anyhow back to the venom and bile... are you the real mr butcher???? One doesn’t care any how, this is my opportunity to vent... so here we go.... firstly a full uk tour shall be announced early next year, the usual shite shall follow.... moz on Jonathan Ross show where moz cant get a word in edgeways, JR bigging our man up, then radio 2 where moz is played all the time by Steve Wright, yes we know, hang the dj shit. Then Moz and the lawnmower bits, and the heavily insulted ( by you) shall storm up to Glasgow ( where I think you live) and we shall slap , quite hard, on the back of your legs and tell you to behave your self..... if your ever in my neck of the woods , get in touch and we can go for a peeve, I can introduce you to the many pubs of Carlislebazland... chow for now...

What exactly has M become? He's the same as he was maybe mellowed a little like a fine FRENCH champagne.

Geoff Travis should make his quick 20k from this festival and keep his trap shut

The very essence of a bitter champagne socialist. Saved his label but not his hair and he doesn't even have to shave on top like me so the fucker is bald and he knows it.
That generation is the reason we are in this mess and we need to hang traitors like him from the lamp posts and leave them there until the corpse rots and falls down.

I don't think it's Morrissey who's changed. The only thing that's different now is his music. As far as character and personality, he's the same. If anything, he may embrace life and smile more (GOD FORBID!) It's the fans who have changed. They have changed with age - some people do. Some don't. Morrissey has always been for England. Always. He's honest about how he feels and thinks, and it pisses people off. So, again, WHAT'S NEW, FOLKS?

Yes you are correct and that old fart cannot even realise that he has changed and became too comfy and lazy and plain stupid for his own good.
I hated the years when fans thought Moz was some kind of messiah spreading love and all things nice when he's never been that way. I tried to tell people on here for ages what he is really like and finally I was proven right although it was never in doubt just that some chose to ignore what was obvious.

      What a fooking stupid name!

He looks like a swedish pensioner at a COOP cafe' ordering marsipan cake and moaning about the pain from his hemorroid.

I bought a bunch of sexy new lingerie today. I also bought some baking supplies. Which isn't very sexy but still way sexier than Geoff Travis.

You buy a lot of things but still you're missing a man unless Clapton is code for a man with a beard.

Was watching some of Stephen Fry talking in opposition to political correctness and cancel culture etc and man some of these articles/posters here could take a leaf out of his book. The amount of people who I have heard being all "cancel Morrissey!!!" and then asked them if they had actually directly read/listened to anything he said, to which they hadn't, is amazing. There is article after article and it's almost like Chinese whispers. There is so much stuff and yet compared to what he himself has actually said is crazy. The amount of people here wanting to control other people's behaviour because they can't control their own emotions is nuts.
