hi all. working on a project, and i was thinking of the font that was used by Morrissey in the Strangeways sleeve.

i thought i remembered Peepholism having a spread showing Morrissey's font choice.

Can anyone tell me what it is? I would very much appreciate it...

thanks!

I just checked the page about "Strangeways" and it shows instructions for the original design, which was gonna use Harvey Keitel on the cover before he declined granting permission. And then it talks about the cover star they actually used, Richard Davalos from "East of Eden"*.

* "East of Eden" came out on DVD this week!

does the font choice appear in the book? if so, what is it?

Re: does the font choice appear in the book? if so, what is it?

No there's nothing about the font.

There's stuff about the font for the "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" single. That's probably what you thought was for "Strangeways"? That used Heltenham Ultra Bold, but that's not what you're looking for. Sorry!

thanks...

Ahhh... so the typeface that appears on the front sleeve of "Strangeways" is not named in "Peepholism"?

i see, i guess i got mixed up, thanks for checking!

I just love that "Strangeways" font & i wanted to find out what it's called. I've seen it elsewhere, too...

cheers -carlos

I have an idea how you can find out the font!

Carlos, scan or find scan of the Strangeways
cover and submit it to this site. It is a free service:

http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

If they can identify it, they may also have
the font for you to purchase.

Give it a try.
