Yes - and animals bred for meat are fed plants, and have to eat way more of them for meat-eaters to get the energy down the line, than if the plants were simply eaten directly. So, if you truly believe that plants 'suffer' because they know they are being eaten, you would do the ethical thing and go vegan.
