Verdict on the night time mix? Songs you loved? Hated?

What kind of night owls are you?

Personally, I got great pleasure out of them all! Ohh, I stay up very very late, either writing or reading (Geek Love currently.) I enjoy the total silence surrounding me. It's the time when I feel most at peace with myself.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the tracks. Do you have work in the mornings?

I'm lucky enough to have a small but thriving hard to find OP book business. I call the shots!:)

I really like Three Mile Pilot's Longest Day.

I liked Leonard Cohen's The Partasian -- especially when the female voice joins in.

Sonic Youth seemed a bit harsh for me, but I am going to give it another listen.

I am listening to The Decemberists' Shanty For The Arethusa. I like this one a lot as well. Love those bells.

I still have six to listen to. I will brb...

Bertie,

Sonic Youth definitely can sound abrasive, even beautifully violent. Not everyone's cup of tea, but they are up there with Moz for me as far as long-time devoted fandom is concerned.

The female voices of Cohen's songs are always purely angelic, and in this case sound extra beautiful in French.

The Three Mile Pilot song...very sad, very beautiful. They broke up in the late 90s and went on to form the Black Heart Procession.

The Decemberists: The singer is the guy who put out a solo ep of Moz covers last year. I think they're one of the better groups around today. They evoke many clever literary and historical references in their music, words and overall aesthetic. I think you'd like they're more poppy songs as well.

Nice. Likewise, I'm working from home for the most part this month due to a prolonged office move.

I gave Sonic Youth another listen. I like it.

I am listening to The Smog's Bathyshpere. I like this one a lot.

Cat Power actually does an amazing cover of "Bathysphere." Cod and I had debated which version is better a little while back actually.

I just listened to Cat Power's I Don't Blame you -- another good one. I can see how you and Cod have very similar tastes in music.

Nick Cave's File wouldn't open for some reason. It may be my computer. And, then I still have two more to hear.

Thanks for sharing all these.

I downloaded "I See A Darkness" and it wouldn't play on my Music Match program.

You're dealing with a technologically retarded person here, so...I dunno, I don't think I can play whatever format your files are. I'll try again later though! I'm sure I'm doing something wrong!
