Eno ostrich-feather costume: influence on Morrissey

I remember reading in the NME in the late 80s / early 90s Morrissey describing in an interview how he was backstage at an early Roxy Music gig at the Manchester Apollo and saw Eno's ostrich feather costume hanging up. It was an transforming moment: he decided at that point to pursue a career into pop.

Since reading it I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else and of course I can't find the original article - which may not actually even have been in NME per se. No mention in the autobiography.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

I advise you to look up http://plunderingdesire.com where you may find the interviews.

It is rather strange remark because if you a vegetarian, you wouldn't approve of a costume made of fur / leather / feathers.

I'll take a look. The costume was rayon and cockerel feathers... Morrissey later renounced his Roxy fandom but because of Ferry's hunting predelictions.
