I've not trawled though every post on here, and I don't have Twitter, but have there been many tributes or messages of sympathy from the music industry? Also wondering if Marr, Joyce, Rourke have had anything to say? I'd be quite disappointed if the latter three had nothing to offer by way of sympathies as surely they would have met, & known, Elizabeth.

No, I don't think it's odd; she's paying tribute to Elizabeth, who she had the honour of playing in the film. I think it's a nice gesture.

Agree - it's nice. Esp as she would be aware that she might get some flack from people reminding her the family wasn't keen on the film.

I would imagine those messages, or conversation would be a private matter, and not put into the public arena... I wonder if Elizabeth ever got a new iderdown from Johnny when he was ill and threw up all over it ...

I reckon you sick delusional anti-American anti-Roman Catholic terrorists need to stop referring to her as "sod" "mum" mam". The California Mom hated you people. I am so happy she never found out that you sociopaths had delusional fantasies that she lived in Mankfester or Waldo Range or anywhere but Moz Angeles. Where do you think that photo of her was taken? She can rest in peace. She had to sit in a "box" away from you people instead of being backstage with Nancy because she could not stand the sight of being up close to you. The California Son's mom and dad moved from Dublin to LA and opened Morrissey's Catholic Gifts in the San Fernando Valley. We would go there and buy our materials for Catechism and I always remember the poster she had at the cash register that said INGLAND OUT OF IRELAND! She was so happy when she made enough money to buy her California Son his first basketball and hoop in the front yard. In the immortal words of the California Mom....GO HOME!!!
inn nn nnnnnn nnnnnn n it.

As always, you are the only one who makes any sense on this site.

This is both incredibly sad and also the natural order of things. A parent outliving the child would be a true tragedy. But of course loss always hurts and we all mourn. I am sorry for Morrissey's loss and give all my condolences.

I sincerely no one comes here in droves. We don't need a covid outbreak because of people travelling here and it would be against all travel advice aside from the fact everyone coming here has to isolate for 2 weeks. Irish government site states that no funeral details should be posted publicly.
Details of all funerals here are posted on rip.ie and there is a section for people to post condolences. It gives all details of funerals including if it is livestreamed on facebook or youtube for those who cannot attend. It also states the families wishes if they want donations to charity in lieu of flowers which would be a nice way to pay respects for people who can't attend.
Brian Cowan our former "leader" posted details of his mothers funeral yesterday on the same site, she died on 13th August but I see it has been taken down.

I agree it's nice I just thought it was a bit odd because it sounds like she knew or at least met her.

Actors tend to feel really close to someone they're playing - she'll either have researched Elizabeth before playing her or will have imagined her backstory based on the script. Either way, it's a lot of hours spent thinking of someone & trying to embody them.

connaissance de l'au-delà;

My mind understands that I don't know him, but my heart feels as though someone I love has just lost someone he loves very much. As the mother of a shy blue eyed boy, I am certain that, like all moms, she wanted her child to find a path in life that gave him fulfillment and she wanted him to experience love; I hope it gives Morrissey some comfort to know that seeing your child achieve these things is a great joy. Rest in peace Elizabeth Dwyer. May your heart heal soon Morrissey

The passing of any loved one is so hard...but your mom, I can only imagine the sorrow. Rest In Peace dear lady. :praying:

Sending condolences

Deepest condolences to Morrissey and his entire family.

“Yes, death. Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace. You can help me. You can open for me the portals of death's house, for love is always with you, and love is stronger than death is.” - Oscar Wilde
