[tweetmeme]In what could be the first taste of the next Erasure album — or perhaps just a future B-side or even a throwaway — Vince Clarke has posted a new instrumental called “Symphony” on his official website and is asking fans to download the track and make their own music video for it.
Clarke writes of the song, which clocks in at 4:35: “If anybody out there fancies making a video for the track we’d love to see it. It could be an animation; a collection of stills; or maybe an epic science fiction classic in the style of ‘Star Wars.’ We can offer no incentive to make a little film other than… it might be a laugh!”
The song is streaming on Clarke’s site — and can be heard below, as well — and fans who want to download it can do so by signing up for Clarke’s e-mail list here. The track will remain up until the end of October; Clarke asks that anybody making a video post it to YouTube and send him a link; he’ll showcase the best clips sometime after Oct. 31.
