This has just been on Radio 4, and there's a story about David, Brother Beyond, Morrissey, The NME, Murray Chalmers, and washing-up-liquid. Also briefly mentions the Word libel case.

Morrissey content starts around 22m 59s , and BBC sign-in may be required.

Oh pack it in. He was unkind ab0ut Morrissey so you have a reactionary dislike of him. Do you not have a mind of your own? And did you even listen to the clip?

Credit where it's due. David Quantick's actually a talented writer first and foremost, a very clever music journalist and very funny social commenter.

Quantick is a professional Moz hater.
Has been absolutely obsessed with the man since the 90s (if not before). Morrissey opinions aside, he's a pretty horrible little man generally. Permanently sarcastic like some twattish sixth-former who never grew up. Rather amusingly, he/Word magazine had to issue an apology to Morrissey for a comment he made in one of his hilarious 'articles'. Ghastly nauseating f***er. Don't waste your time on this.

David Quantick as worried about Morrissey giving him ecover detergent for years, and all he was doing was returning NME's photoshoot props.

Have a mind of your own. And learn English. Or at the very least, punctuation. And I'll take that as a 'no', you didn't listen to the clip, and are just being reactionary.

Please do feel free to list more examples of this behaviour. In your own time. Then we can have a discussion.

Oh, and what did you think of the clip, which you have CLEARLY listened to?

Lol. Has anybody read the first post on the David Quantick thread at the bottom of the page? Priceless.

I was far too busy trying to off myself back in 1989 to have bothered with this. Maybe Moz was toying with the idea as well being on a cover that had the name Tone Loc beside it.

Bonus points to both anons for observation.
That said, 10 years is enough time to change your mind about someone.
Regards,
FWD.

Very true, FWD.

Though we must remember that Morrissey, however, is not allowed to change his mind. About anything. Mr Finan is very clear on the matter.

A volatile and frustrated journalist with an agenda who always responded to the command of his NME's editor in chief like a dog towards his master: in 1986, he had also crucifixed Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Tinderbox" in a hostile long article and ironically when the album was reissued in 2009, he reviewed it just saying he liked it now and he had changed his mind.

Quantick hasn't said or written anything remotely interesting in 20 years. He's a boring rent-a-gob with a witless opinion on anything his agent tells him is 'current' or 'edgy'. The fact that he delivers his thoughts in the smug whine of a bullied head boy doesn't help. Listening to this shite has done nothing apart from remind me how much I detest the twat.

I wonder if we will get the same revelation from skinny about Morrissey.
