The whole gender issue has become incredibly complicated, with well intentioned people getting dragged into attempts to have them permanently silenced, or “cancelled”. The weaponising of debate is akin with the pro- Israeli/Zionist lobby.

Women‘s rights have been fought for over a long time, and children need protecting from themselves making potentially life altering/ruining decisions before they are sensible enough to properly decide. None of this means that there aren’t minors who know exactly what is right for them, but we protect those most vulnerable.

I‘m outside of the debate, in many ways. A fully grown heterosexual man in a long term marriage, with no kids. Obviously I do care for my wife and her rights as a woman, and I like to think that a grown up and sensible debate can happen to suit multiple needs. Right now though, we are a million miles away from this ever happening. There is a very juvenile, yet prolific voice coming from one side. They do their cause no favours. You can come to your own conclusions as to which side I speak of here.

Good to know Roisin is living on planet reality. It's becoming a very small planet lately.
It is indeed. And the scramble to 'cancel' her speaks volumes about the big money involved in pushing harmful drugs like puberty blockers on confused kids. A trans kid is a patient for life.

Well unfortunately she has already caved and apologised and is now currently reaping the rewards of said apology in the form of more cancelled gigs. Well done Roisin. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. She should've stuck to her guns so then at least she'd have her dignity. Never apologise.

Agreed, she should not have apologised. Poor thing probably panicked/was made to apologise, but got cancelled anyway. You don’t want to mess with the LGBTQ+ community.

Well, at least the G community still loves you, Roisin! ❤️

I don't know who this person is. Is she very famous?

Not really. I love her Overpowered album but it didn't take off & everything since has sounded like a drab version of it.

I feel for any artist who gets caught up in online firestorms & hope they find an exit strategy & get their careers back - but also GC pundits used Morrissey as an example of someone who deserved to be cancelled unlike their real lady selves so f*** em. And Dave.

The thing about ethics is you have to stand by them not just say them. It seems she found saying them was easy but sticking to them was a stretch too far. I've been listening to her music since the early 2000s with Moloko and have seen her live a few times. I'm disappointed but it's sadly par for the course these days. One minute a celebrity is standing up and the next minute they're on their knees.

The whole debate needs to be taken offline - there was a gruesome fight between a radical feminist & a trans activist not that long ago where they were actually agreeing with each other but they were using different buzzwords from their warring online tribes so they didn't notice they were agreeing with each other.

They're just handing their mutual enemies ammo at this point.

I see as well recently Alice Cooper got 'cancelled' for saying that trans was all a bit of a fad. It's a subject that few public figures will want to speak about, given the online bullying and, probably more importantly, the financial consequences that occur when they do.

Vulture sees dead body
Says the person who trawls the internet for scraps of information that feed the narrative that Moz's career has been undermined by a homophobic conspiracy dating back to Madstock and stalks editors and SER with said information. You live in a glass house on that one, Karen. You're the biggest online vulture of them all.
