Signs of self obsession even then, balanced by keen wit. Here's hoping Morrissey gets a record deal in the new year and releases yet another ace album. He's still the best, and probably always will be.

This was the title of a lecture given by Dave Haslam at one of the conventions/meetings in Manchester some years ago - "I am Critically Maimed" - I think it was one of the events organised by Eoin Devereux. Nice guy, by the way. His book Adventures On The Wheels Of Steel has a chapter on the S&G disco.
