Morrissey for the Dublin Point

20 Sep 2004

Having enlisted Damien Dempsey for his US tour, Morrissey returns to Irish soil for a date at the Point

Morrissey has confirmed a date at Dublin's Point Depot on December 20.

With his 'Irish blood, English heart', the former Smiths main man entertained Irish fans earlier this summer as part of the Heineken Green Energy Festival.

Currently gearing up for a full tour of the US, Morrissey has announced that Damien Dempsey will be filling the prestigious support slot. Kicking off September 29 in Washington DC, the tour coincides with the American release of Dempsey's Seize The Day album courtesy of Morrissey's Attack/Sanctuary Records imprint.

"To hear him sing is to realize the magnitude of his astounding voice and heart," says Morrissey of the Raheny native. "The songs are true, and his is the best and often the saddest voice of this generation."

Tickets for Morrissey's Point date priced from €46 and €53 (seated) go on sale Thursday, September 23.
