Morrissey Central "DAILY MAIL" (May 12, 2023)

The Daily Mail 'news' paper is planning a hit-piece on Morrissey. The Daily Mail is scrambling around for grime and gossip to discredit Morrissey once again. Please do not credit The Daily Mail with any views of their hyperbolic clickbait.

This feels like damage control... It must be something bad? Not just the usual racism stuff... He's got a secret onlyfans?

It might just be something he'd feel embarrassed by but no one else would be that fussed - He Was The Skinny Darling Of Indie But Now His Latest Band Has Collapsed And He's Fat etc.

Have Alain and Gustavo sold their story of working with Morrissey woes?! :fearscream:;)

I've just heard from someone in the know (who can never be named) that the upcoming Dozy Male article is scheduled for 22nd May and is in fact a Happy Birthday to our Moz. Rumour is they will mention his age. My informed insider insists we ignore the ill-intended issue on ink and internet.

Based on past precedent I doubt it, but things change, so you can't rule it out entirely. If this is what's going on then I can understand why they felt the need to say something before its publication.

But we all know what he's like here, so it's not exactly like they're going to reveal things that haven't already previously been implied. What they'll never understand is that we love him for being difficult. More people should be "difficult".

I heard a rumour once that Morrissey had kissed a fella. If The Mail has evidence, it’ll be heartbreaking news for his female fanbase.

I'm going to be slightly disappointed if this turns out to be nothing. Morrissey could teach Richard Nixon paranoia

Yeah, I was only joking.

Anyway, when the subject’s brought up here, when it’s wondered why ex band members don’t say anything, some will say … it isn’t because there’s nothing bad to say about Morrissey, it’s because they signed NDA’s, supposedly.
I thought you might be.

I mean, NDAs are a possibility, but it's just as likely that he knows how to choose people who are unwilling to engage with the media; who have similar views to him on them.

Maybe the Dozy Male journihilists contacted old friends of Moz hoping to scrape up slime and the friends warned Moz.
Yeah. Central says "The Daily Mail is scrambling around for grime and gossip to discredit Morrissey once again" so the article appears to be in the process of being written, and Moz/Sam have been warned by someone they interviewed / tried to interview. That the intent is to discredit Moz could be because of the questions asked or simply assumed because it's the Daily Mail?
I guess another possibility is someone from the paper has warned them?

What would they have to say, anyway? There's probably nothing scandalous that would interest the press anyway.

Strange. My first thought was that it was something to do with the rumours about the exodus of the band, but surely nobody would care?

Yeah, not click worthy enough for the press (never mind for the Daily Mail), who have never bothered with Moz's band anyway.

That's what I thought. But maybe more about the supposed toxic environment on tour forcing band members to leave? Even then not that big a deal to the general public.

Just stating things explicitly in a national newspaper what we already know here, really. It doesn't bother me what comes out, tbh, I already know he can be "difficult", and I couldn't give a toss. People cursed with intelligence and his level of genius are not straightforward people. A sycophantic conformist with their mouth stitched closed couldn't have written the stuff he has... It comes with the territory.

That rag would love to know about the issues with "management" or lack of it. Most of us here are used to the drama and don't care as long as we get new music and, most importantly, touring.

Guess they could be trying to go for that... don't think Alain and Gustavo would help them though. But maybe they've gotten some disgruntled roadie or someone to talk to them lol

Exactly, I doubt they could even name anyone. The only other possibility I could think of is if someone has approached them - off the record - to stir some shit. It would need to be major for anybody to think about running to the tabloids, surely.
