Yes, we humans can eat without eating animals, but we shouldn't have to. No other animals have morals like this...they do what nature dictates, to survive. We shouldn't be any different. It's a process. A foodchain. We are not above it just because we have Priuses and hi-speed internet. All our progress and technology could go IN A HEARTBEAT. We would still need to kill and harvest and eat. It's primal and ancient and real.

I don't believe in cruelty to animals for sport. But just because there is suffering involved in killing animals so that humans can eat, well, that doesn't make it wrong. Life is full of misery and suffering.

We've killed animals for centuries and centuries and centuries and centuries...killed them to eat, to stay warm with their skins. Deal with it. It's ugly and unfortunate but that's life.

The moment someone posts a single intelligent, coherent and compelling argument for the killing and eating of animals simply because they taste nice when scorched, I will snorkel-up and plunge into the discussion head-first. Until then, why on Earth would I attempt to have an adult discussion with you kids?

Go to Africa and try to convince a lion why he's better off physically and morally just eating some plants and vegetables than he is a gazelle. What sense is it to feel protective over animals when a vast number of them kill lesser species for sustenance? Why is it OK for it to happen in nature but not with humans? Because we do it in mass and sell it to people? If so, does that mean you WOULDN'T have a problem with it if everyone went out with a spear and killed their food on their own without it being just a "product"?

And drop the whole bullshit superiority nonsense...it makes you, perhaps appropriately, look like a jackass.

Some of the arguments on here are embarrassing. Lions kill things so it's OK for us to follow their morals? A lion would kill a person if put in the same room, does that make it OK for a person to do the same? No, that's called murder. We don't follow animals 'morals' because they have none, they have instinct. Humans have ethical judgement. Do these same people eat cats because they kill mice?

It's difficult not to appear superior in the face of such inane, intellectually flaccid drivel. Which is a shame because you seem reasonably bright and more than capable of coming up with something a little more worthwhile.

So, let me get this straight...your idea of an argument is to claim you and your ideas are superior, yet never state why with any form of an opinion or factual evidence, and ignore or dismiss everyone else and their ideas without even referencing what you find flawed with them, then claim superiority yet again?
