Consequence Of Sound Podcast & YT: LP on Duetting with Chester Bennington, Hanging with Morrissey, and Performing in Russia

LP.png

LP hops on the line with Kyle Meredith to talk about her new single “The One That You Love”, reuniting with the duo who helped pen “Lost On You”, and her melting pot of genres. The New York-born artist also takes us into this summer’s Live In Moscow, her penchant for rock opera-style theatrics, and what releasing a record from Russia says in the current political climate. LP also discusses collaborating with the late Chester Bennington’s pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze, working with Morrissey, Celine Dion recording her songs, and what we can expect from next year’s full length.

Thanks for posting the interview. The bit about Morrissey starts at 20:30ish and it's very pleasant to hear someone give their opinion about him from an informed and non-polarised perspective.

What does she say about Morrissey? I don't want to play the whole thing.
She thought It’s Over was going to be an actual duet. But blames chiccarelli

LP didn't get scared when they tried to shame her for workin' with Moz.
Thelma Houston weren't worried about it neither.
A lot of them indie rockers got real scary though.

Why, either way you stand zero chance.. unless you get the book from the library.... dirty olde sod...

Exactly! What difference does it make? It's like people who care about Morrissey's sexual orientation. It's not as if they had any chance with any of them. Just enjoy their music, live and let live.

She is mistaken. Moz’s cover of Its Over is a blatant rip-off of her own cover. And she doesn’t know Moz well enough if she thinks it was the producer that minimized any semblance of a duet
