Confirmed 2014 tour dates; seeking label to issue "World Peace..." - TTY

Two Berlin tickets and flights purchased. I'm delighted.

Viva SPM.

I will say that, despite my sheer jealousy (:)) this thread makes me so happy because we're talking about actual live dates. Viva SPM indeed

With all these new dates I can't help but feel bad for those who got cancelled on in the US.

Is anyone else having issues with the O2 presale? I've been hit with 'no seats found' everytime.

Exactly the same for me. Tickets were obviously there and available. But, not showing when you select them. Very disappointed.

Re: Confirmed 2014 tour dates - TTY

I pay five euro for my cinema tickets in a modern cinema and usually sneak in my own popcorn and drinks. Ireland O2 will be cheaper than London. I was just saying that going to a concert shouldn't cost £90. That price is for rich Barbara Streisand fans who have no taste in music. Factor in travel cost or hotel and you're talking £200 for an hour of music from Moz. I do realise I am lucky to be able to go, and I can live with the cost. A lot of people couldn't justify that cash outlay for such a short concert. As Roy Batty says: "moments lost in time ... like tears in rain".

Acton,

You are right. £90 for a ticket is a lot. I get what you mean but thankfully the other tickets outside London are much more reasonable.

And thankfully there IS a tour.

The cost of everything is going up. It is cheaper for me to fly return to Europe than to buy a return train ticket from Manchester to London via Virgin. The £11 each way train specials are now few and far between. But I may try your suggestion of taking things with me on my next cinema visit !

Best,

Hazard.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself, don't worry, hahaha. I'm very excited for all of these dates, though, and for everyone who will get to go (maybe me, though financing it is proving difficult). It just makes me happy to know that Morrissey will be on stage again.

Thumbs up to this! I would love to take a family vacation to see him overseas (I've never even left the country in 33 years...what an uncultured slob I am! ;)) I am just so happy that he's getting out there. Listening to 25Live as we speak and dreaming of some U.S. dates.

Anyone have an idea whcih is the smallest venue? The London O2 has a capacity of 'up to' 20,000 or something huge. Did Moz play to 20,000 at the MEN for 'Who put the M in Manchester?' I've never been to a stadium gig. Should I give the O2 a go? (I'm in London). And 90 quid does seem very expensive. I'd expect Bowie to be the support act for that sort of money.

I'm not very bright...but I just looked at the conversion of 90 quid to U.S. dollars. Wow. haha

$150 is in line with the cost of similarly-sized venues in New York, though (Barclays/MSG). And smaller, even—I just paid that much for Culture Club (don't judge, haha) at the Beacon Theater, which is 1/10 the size of the O2.

No judgement here :) (though I am only familiar with the Culture Club's hit songs) but I don't know if I've ever paid more than like $75 including fees for a show, could be mistaken though. My first concert was seeing Fugazi for $5 and that unfairly set the bar for spending.

Needless to say though, we already know that we're probably going to have to shell out a good chunk of change to see Moz again, so I'm mentally prepared, but alas, that's why I can't travel/see multiple shows!

I've never been to the O2, but....... when Morrissey played Wembley Arena in 2006 it was a pretty good show despite the size of the venue. So don't think big venue equals rubbish show..... thought sometimes it does't help!

Berlin booked.
I'm a fully formed adult, I have paid my money and taken my choice.
If he cancels he cancels. I get a weekend in berlin, worse places in the world.
I certainly won't be on here crying and whining and throwing dummies all over the shop.

I remember seeing Morrissey for something like 20 Deutsch Marks in 1991. We all now that concerts have become so expensive over the years and why... And even few years ago I said: No concerts is worth more than 50 €...

To be fair though prices vary a lot this tour depending on nation and venue. Polish and Italian tickets are way cheaper than further up north (and west). Which is only fair taking into account the real purchasing power of different nations. Of course, it does not help those in richer countries who are struggling themselves.

Oh, the good old times...

Yeah, I do see this too...the ticket in NYC is going to be more expensive than the ticket in Upper Darby, PA (where we had tickets in 2013 before the cancelations) so hoping that he comes back to that area, but I wouldn't mind a trip to NYC either!
