Now Morrissey mentioned too by @CathalSmyth on @BBCRadio2! Great show.

Can't post the actual broadcast right now. Maybe someone else can do it.

Cathal Smyth - Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2
Launching his solo career, Cathal Smyth of Madness joins Jools tonight, singing live and picking his favourite records.

Originally known as Chas Smash, Cathal first popped up on the charts as the voice that intoned "Hey you, don't watch that, watch this..." on Madness' first big hit "One Step Beyond".

Since then he's been an integral part of the much loved band, but has finally decided to make a record in his own. He tells Jools about its genesis, and sings a classic Lou Reed song with the band.

Interview starts around 29 minutes

Is it true you were the inspiration for "You're The One For Me Fatty"?
They say that, I was 16 stone at the time... he's very interesting, he's very succinct. If you are listening Steven, I wrote a little song...

Steven tells me I should brighten up his life with a song
I should do it now before it's too late to carry on
And add another disc to his gramophone collection
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
