California Budget deal news...all disagreement was for "show"

On the radio today a Republican Assemblyman, Anthony Adams, admitted that the Republicans "rebellion" against the budget was only "a strategy of politics to show they were against the budget rather than that they believed the financial crisis was real."
Basically three Republicans "drew the short straws" to be the ones to cross the line to vote with the Democrats on the budget.

All the "disagreement" was for show. The Repubs didn't care.

Demicans/Republicrats.

What's UC tuition up to these days? $10,000 a year? $15,000?

"Students who cannot establish California residency under these rules will be required to pay out-of-state tuition as well as UC and campus fees. Non-California resident students paid $20,021 in tuition in 2008-2009. UC systemwide fees are $7,126 and campus fees range from about $425 to $1,500. Campus health care allowance/fees range from about $700 to about $1,200; this fee may be waived if a student has equivalent coverage. Students can expect the total costs for 2009-2010 to be higher."

Hmm, that's not too bad. I thought Sacramento would have gutted the UC system by now. I guess there's still time.
