Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
your heart is true you're a pal and a confidant

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see, the biggest gift would be for me
and the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend

Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend

If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a cadillac
Whatever you need, anytime of the day or night

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear, even though it's hardly here
I will stand real close and say,
Thank you for being a friend

(I want to thank you)

You're pretty chirpy for a Manics fan...:)

I remember when she was on All in the Family, her and Archie Bunker with the verbal jabs :boxing: :thumb: and who can forget Maude  Great shows.

I read that she was chosen for the male roles in school plays cuz she was tall and had a deep voice.:cool::D Great wit, that woman.

Yes, Maude was a spin-off of All in the Family. She played Archie Bunker's cousin.

I actually watch Golden Girls about 4-6 times/day. I have to balance all that alienation, boredom, and despair somehow, right?

Oh right..:) I agree, but only if it's for reasons of happiness....:)

Try Curb your enthusiasm for chuckles..:)

This is weird. Just yesterday I thought about her and wondered if she was still alive. Hunh.

Sad. I liked her. I suppose she lived a full life though.

I cried during an episode of Golden Girls last night. If only I could have known the tragic events that would meet us this morning...

Curb Your Enthusiasm isn't my cup of tea. I do not watch modern television. The last time I did that was sometime around 1995.

You should watch "Curb" your missing out on good comedy.

You simply do not understand. I absolutely cannot watch modern shows. I don't watch modern movies either. It all disgusts me. Thanks for the encouragement anyway.

I loved the Golden Girls, that show is still damn funny. That's really sad, but I suppose 86 is a great long life.

Watching the Star Wars clips were quite painful, that special was so bad. My brother has it on dvd with all the orignal commercials.

You could be mad or genius...:)

Well, just try and relax. You always have the episodes.

Bea was such a talent and such a great lady. To say she will be missed is an understatment. I know we all think, oh she reminds me of so and so... But for me, she was more like a role model. She wasn't the prettiest girl or the most lady like etc. But she was loved for being her talented and funny self. I saw a lot of myself in her.

Also, a strange thing, turns out her real name is actually Bernice. My grandmother's name. We lost my mom-mom in october and when we still laugh and joke about the funny things she did and said, we always have and continue to compare her to Bea. The 2 of them are probably having a great time giving evil looks and busting balls together in heaven. I bet they're great friends. RIP Bea and Bernie.
