I have just finished reading this novel for the second time.It is a hearbreaking story of love and the longing for someone you know can never truly be yours.Fertile Morrissey territory. The author herself(Elizabeth Smart) led a fascinating life before dropping out of the literary scene to live in Suffolk,U.K.

Anyway, the thing that really catches my eye with this book is the amount of smiths and morrissey lyrics that have been lifted in full from this book!!It must have made a huge impact on Morrissey!Everything from the album title "louder than bombs" to lyrics for "Well i Wonder" are all here. I counted at least 8 complete/part lyrics.

As i said it is well worth a read.the author is no longer alive

Crap, I haven't been able to get my hands on either one...I'd love to read both.
