Ah isn't it funny how Uncle Skinny and the usual lot don't comment on something positive that Moz does.

Best wishes Gustavo

#Crywolf-gate

Steven has cried wolf so many many times in the past that he now finds himself in this awkward position.
Unless he actually walks out onto the boards in the flesh to make the announcement himself nobody would believe a word of any other form of communication to cancel. That's how bad his reputation is these days, not just with fans but also the whole music industry/labels across the board, it's so bad that we've had to have a photo of Gustavo released in his hospital bed just to be 100% sure.
Now if you would like to attack me for explaining how crystal clear things are in the real world go ahead if it makes you feel like a better bot. The past is the past, it's well documented for all to see and Steve is gonna have to get used to the fact that he's earned this reputation with the help from nobody but himself. Couldn't have happened to nicer chap, I doff my cap :tiphat:

Get well soon Gustavo :clap::musickeyboard:

I hope Gustav is well soon. Collapsing is a traumatic thing to happen to someone.

Not as 4kin traumatising as reading your one sided, bot licking, nonsense, twaddle, claptrap, balderdash, gibberish, mumbo jumbo :barf: Marred-arse !

"Collapsing is a traumatic thing to happen to someone" ! ! ! No way ! :head-smack: Please tell me some more interesting shit won't you !

Certainly best wishes to Gustavo, a very talented player.

Though perhaps I can be the voice of dissent here - my take is that a great many bands (not all, certainly) would have gone on. There are certainly many songs in the current pool that could be very adequately performed without keyboard and other accompaniments.

I respect the decision that was made, but am I the only one that can also argue the other side of it? I mean, the room was full of people ready to go. Then again, "the show must go on" has never been a mantra of MorrisseyTour, Inc.

Please do not misread me - again, I hope for a speedy recovery for Gustavo.

Phew, i was thinking the same but didn't dare to write in case the Bots jump on me....or, my idea was as a musician (see my username), what about an acoustic show? Surely a (possibly even shorter) acoustic set is still better than no show at all?
"Hey our friend and band member just collapsed. Let's do the show unplugged without him."

Happy to be a mozBOT :)

We're sorry to inform you that Morrissey on Wednesday November 16th 2016 at McFarlin Auditoriumhas been cancelled.

"It is with great regret that the sold out engagement with Morrissey has been cancelled due to severe illness of a member of the band. Refunds will be issued automatically. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope to announce a rescheduled date soon. The tour will continue as planned in Detroit from Nov 23 onward."

ACTON

Don't Leave Us In The Dark
Silly me already brought this up as an emergency option but obviously, according to Ketamine Sun, an ARTIST doesn't do this!
That's not too bad. Mine was voted 'redundant'. Who do you have to be to not be redundant: the doctor with a medical update on his condition?
In fairness to Moz he was probably in shock as anyone would be if a member of their 'family' collapsed like that. I don't blame them for cancelling. You can't just shamble on to the stage and pretend everything is ok. However (almost as good as 'but') they could possibly have done the concerts on the nights afterwards without Gustavo. But maybe it's a serious medical condition, in which case all bets are off.

"Hey, thousands of people paid money to see us and arranged their scheudle aroudn this night. What if we explain them our friend has collapsaed and we do an acoustic show instead, to avoid disappointment, also because we love playing music?"

I know you are happy to be a MozBot, your comments prove this without confessing it. Anyways, I didn't critisize their decision for not doing the show, i was just coming up with an option, as Acton did, that it could have been an alternative - as many other bands/artists did in the past. Your arguement is as valid as mine above.

Yes, your arguments are as valid.
There were two options.
Playing or not playing.
Cause it was obvious they didn't know what was happening with Gustavo from the moment on he was transported to the hospital, and they felt very uncertain about his well being, they felt like they could not do the show because making music is also about enjoying yourself and they found it emotionally too complex to just fake it.
I can understand.

I also can understand your arguments for playing, meaning a professional attitude and the show must go on and people having paid money.
But hey, they get a refund and maybe, don't know yet, a rescheduled date.

I traveled almost 2,000 miles for this one. Got so close to seeing him perform, but at least he came out to give us an update. Surely there will be another tour. Catch you next time, Moz.

I'm stuck with it, it's my surname. If Morrissey takes offense I'll gladly change it to a last name of his choosing.

It reminds me of that painter Frank Bacon. Just tell him that's where you got it.

The North Carolina coast.

Francis Bacon is a great Bacon.

Cool. I'm from Maryland so not to far away. I go to the outer banks about once a year but don't get to many other places in the state. Always a nice trip

I was going to write this same exact post, I was thinking the same thing. You even nailed the songs!
I do not want anyone to misunderstand my post. Morrissey made the right call to cancel the show, and I wish Gustavo a fast recovery, and hope that he feels better. I actually saw Gustavo and Jesse being escorted by security at around 6:45pm from the tour bus into the theater. We drove up to them and I told them to have a great show. Gustavo smiled and Jesse said thank you. It was terrible that this happened to him right before the show, Moz was clearly upset and not able to put on a performance. Health and family comes first in life, everything else is just a bonus. The people that are complaining on this site are just venting. Those of us who have been die hard Morrissey fans over the decades have come to understand that cancellations are a part of what we deal with. Im almost at the point where I am so used to it over the years, that if we did not have the fear of a cancellation, it would some how not feel like a Morrissey tour. Obviously this was a medical emergency and not like many of the cancellations in the past. As I was walking out of the theater I found myself thinking that wouldnt it have been great if Moz came out and said he was going to cancel, but then sang at least 1 song with no instruments playing or even just have Jesse or Boz playing an acoustic guitar, while he sang Everyday is like Sunday, or Seasick, yet still docked, or There is a light that never goes out, or Now my heart is full. I flew in from New York to catch the show, and it sucks to fly back home without hearing him perform. Colorado has some really cool Moz fans, met some good people. Im just glad that he still performs, and we are all lucky that we can still go and hear his voice live. I will be at the next one!

I hope Gustavo gets well soon.

Daft question: could this have been a chance to do a different version of the concert? For example, a stripped down more accoustic version with emphasis on older songs that Gustavo didn't play on originally? I'm sure people wouldn't really complain too much if it was Moz singing with Boz on guitar and a lighter touch of drums. I guess something like that would take a fair amount of planning. I'm thinking back to when Suede had their tour truck stolen with all their equipment, so they got a few accoustic guitars and did a stripped down concert that went down very well with the fans. Moz's voice has never been better. I'd pay just to hear him sing with a guitar strumming in the background.

Perfect songs for accoustic concert: Jack The Ripper, We'll Let You Know, I've Changed My Plea To Guilty, The Lazy Sunbathers, Please Please Please, Back To The Old House, I Know Its Over, Jeane, Driving Your Girlfriend Home, Girlfriend in a Coma, Well I Wonder, This Night Has Opened My Eyes, Mountjoy, Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself, Used To Be A Sweet Boy, He Knows I'd Love To See Him, This Charming Man, The Headmaster Ritual.

Francis Bacon is a great Bacon.

Like your username very much so!
I'm a bit jealous, though, but not in a nasty way.

He is and was my favourite modern painter.
I know there has been made an enormous cult of the man by the arthounds, and rebuilding his small atelier in London and moving it to Dublin, reproducing any kind of dust particle to the utmost possible. And my god it was a mess there. It is still a mistery how he could have made some of the bigger paintings there. But in this case I do understand why they rebuild it with so much precision.

The problem is of course, the moneyworld taking away very good art and putting it in a vault and after 10 years the value has been doubled again. And these paintings are never to be seen in a museum.

Two years ago I had the opportunity to see a famous triptych made by Bacon in Amsterdam in a church.
Surprisingly so it fitted very well in that environment.
It was a jaw dropping experience to see that.

Mind you, the owner payed an enormous amount for that painting, something like 90 million euro and he allowed to exhibit the painting for a year or so in some European cities.
Franchis Bacon is one of the most interesting artists of his time.
Like Morrissey, like Pasolini.
Cheers
