What of his Manc credentials? Check this lot out. Billy was in Morrissey’s first group, The Nosebleeds, helping to write the first songs Morrissey ever penned, replacing Vini Reilly, later of The Durutti Column.

He calls fellow Wytheshawe lad Johnny Marr a mate and was once in the suburb’s celebrated punk outfit Slaughter And The Dogs.
