I can't remember where I heard this today, but amongst all the news commenters comparing Obama to Jimmy Carter, someone made the point that, in the minds of millions of Americans, the BP oil leak is becoming the symbol for the single-party rule of Obama/Pelosi/Reid. People across the country watch helplessly in despair, depression, and building anger while everything in this country is going wrong and those in charge are equal parts incompetent and malevolent. The waste and poison and corruption keeps spewing out and it will take at least months before we can plug the damn hole.
