Bigmouth Strikes Again- Joan of Arc?

OK, so we're all sick and tired of the old Princess Diana 'phenomenon' that crops up now and again. If you're not, have a look at an adaptation here http://letsrollforums.com/showpost.php?p=241223&postcount=88. However, through looking at it the other day, on the Bigmouth page, I got thinking- about the song, not any Diana stuff. The 'author' draws parallels to an obscure Ingrid Bergman film called 'Arch of Triumph' and I was wondering if this was where Moz's Joan of Arc came from. I'd be interested in hearing your theories on the root of this bizarre reference to an historical character. Thanks!

Jeanne d'Arc was a french catholic heroine, a martyr and a sainte. She was burned alive by English occupation. The only prediction I find in the song is her reference, because she was sold by a faction of her own people for some gold coins, like Morrissey. This is her bio:
