Best American Football Advert- maybe one of the best adverts ever

Finer Things Club Prez
I just have a certain appreciation for anything well-shot, and this ad is very well shot and set to the perfect music. I'm not even a Nike customer. I stick to Brooks. But this ad is pretty gorgeous. I first saw it when the season began but I just saw it again and thought if other people appreciate good film (even in ad form), then they'd like to see this!

that was funny. I really don't understand why there's such snobby hostility towards america (I'm making that comment based on all the snarky comments under the video). darn it, its kind of old now!

That was a great commercial. Too bad they didn't include footage of Merriman's delightful meeting with Maurice Jones-Drew from a few weeks back.

And of all the exquisitely fake imagery in that video, none was more ridiculous than seeng five Steeler defenders failling to stop the running back with a gang tackle. That would never, ever happen.

it doesnt matter. it was PRETTY! you're supposed to suspend disbelief ;) and lately you never know with the Stealers.

The Immaculate Reception was far more credible than that video. But yeah, it was pretty, as pretty as the Steelers' upset of the Patriots in the playoffs will be...

I hate both those teams. THey're both cheaters in their own respect. If I had to pick one to win... no I don't think I could. I dislike both of them. But Tom Brady is exponentially more smug.
Burgermeister Roethlisberger is one lucky SOB after that wreck he had on his motorcycle that he is even still walking much less continuing to start for an NFL team.

Eh? The Patriots I know about, but how do the Steelers cheat?

i feel like icing the kicker is cheating and the steelers started making it en vogue.
I'm a redskins fan myself (mostly to piss off all the ravens fans i live and work with, but also because I was an FSU fan when I was a little kid so their uniforms make me nostalgic), and yesterday, my own team was a bunch of cheaters, and it came back and bit them in the ass last night when he iced the kicker and then called another time out which is unsportsmanlike conduct. dumb joe gibbs!

Ha. Well, okay, but in fairness I'm not sure the Steelers started it and in any case they're not alone in doing it. I don't like it either and I hope the league puts a stop to it.

It's funny you say that about the uniforms because I used to love the Redskins unis as a child. The Hogs and all that. Of course, they beat my childhood hero Dan Marino in the Super Bowl and for that that they're not forgiven.

Weren't the FSU uniforms cell-block orange, by the way? Or was that Miami?

i hope they put a stop to it as well. This has to be at least the third season that it has been rampant, its stupid, and totally unsportsmanlike (and I blame the steelers because they did it the most often and were one of the first! :p)
FSU is garnet and gold so that cell block had to be miami. Tampa was like that too up until about 1996-ish I do believe. SOOO orange. I miss the pirate though. He had a nickname, damned if I can remember it (shame on me, i even had a Bucs helmet)

oh god I remember that ad, Irn Bru always did the best adverts.

Since this advert, I only buy it as a hangover cure. Over 600 people complained about it and the advertising authority said it was unlikely to cause offence. There was little media coverage of the volume of complaints.

Mind you. Some are more offensive. For example, The girl wearing a bikini beside the slogan "I never knew four-and-a-half inches could give so much pleasure".

Police chiefs want Irn-Bru advert banned 'for condoning violence':
17 people and 2 police complained.

I can't find the one where the grand kid offers their grandparent a drink only to watch them take their teeth out before sipping from the can. Nor can I find the one with the old naked couple in the car driving along. There is some naked rambler at the side of the road and the guy in the car slaps the rambler with a big fish. The got in trouble for that too.

As you can tell. I have too much time on my hands today.

OMFG, I've never heard of this stuff, but these ads are fantastic!

You can not say they don't know how to cause a stir!

They have done well to remain independent. Coca-cola has bought up most of the soft drinks industry world-wide.

When I was suffering from a rare hangover, I drank some a while after I had stopped buying it. It tasted to me a bit like the smell of sick.

The two stages of me beating the irn-bru addiction were both their fault. First when they changed the glass bottle tops to the metal (goes through my teeth when putting the lid back on and it looses gas now) seal break then the 'wash me down with irn-bru' ad.

I'm not that keen on fizzy drinks anyway but that is the most likely one I'd buy. They really should send me a case for introducing it to America via the power of Moz-solo.
