Big LOL. Wow, that's a great example of ethnocentrism!!! Congratulations, you approved the first lesson in Brainwash 1.
"If the Brits ever lost a war"? The island used to be a roman province, that poor people got tired of losing wars during centuries.
Now I understand why someone had to write a book to teach people to think outside the box...
The British state did not exist two thousand years ago. The Romans invaded the territory of Britain, not the state. There was no state, just a collection of tribes, the most famous of which were the Catuvellauni led by Caractacus and the Iceni led by Boudicca.

In much the same way the colonists who landed at Plymouth Rock did not colonise the United States of America, the Romans did not invade the British state. They invaded the landmass.

Like many you are incapable of differentiating between the geographical land mass of Britain and the modern political state known in shorthand as Great Britain or the United Kingdom and more formally as The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

It is noticeable that Morrissey's career decline closely mirrors his decision to pander to imbeciles who know as little of history, politics or current events as he himself.

The Smiths were about a fierce, burning intelligence. Today Morrissey is an icon of stupidity.

M tours and here at solo all the sad little trolls come out to play (with themselves).

if he was looking for pity he would have tossed his shirt to reveal his plasters/bandage I would think. Hope he doesn't let these things make him self-conscious and hinder him in his celebration of life through his art.

glad he's doing the songs he chooses to do for whatever his reason for doing so.

defiant, and true to himself... as always.
Oh, boo! hoo! Celebration of his life? He hasn't got one but there's still time for Morrissey to GET OFF OF THE STAGE and GET A LIFE! Cancel Manchester clown parade would be a good start. Or at least give the set-list some smelling salts...............

Wow! Lots of competition but you may well win the Gold Medal for Stupid Morrissey Fan this summer. Hilarious nonsense. 8/10 but sure you can do better on the mat.

I still don't know what is the mysterious poem which is read out first by female reader before the pre-show videos start? I though it is Anne Sexton, but she appears later (it is not Wanting to die)?
That's the whole point. Morrissey is 'mysterious' hence he puts up obscure shit to try and make out he's a proper cultural curator when he's just another gobbler Art-hound. Whatever it is, it's probably shit.

Your desperate attempts to tell everyone that you know what I'm thinking shows how delusional you are. I said no such thing, described nobody as 'vermin', though noted Hitler did and Thatcher, Bush, Blair didn't. Morrissey supports the actions of an Argentine regime that sent ill-prepared conscripts against the British Armed forces, a junta led by criminals who threw dissidents out of helicopters leaving the Mothers of the Disappeared to be remembered in a U2 song which actually isn't nonsense, for once. Voice of reason on a Morrissey 'fan' site? How hard would that be? LOL!

Can somebody please throw Morrissey out of a helicopter & put a stop to his offensive public support for the dictatorial Argentinian regimes who he eulogises with his ignorant support for the Malvinas propaganda machine as part of his blanket infatuation with Margaret Thatcher as a simplistic figure of 'evil'? Pathetic creature is Morrissey. At least Bono had the bollocks to risk losing some of his Argie fans unlike Morrissey with his mouth gaffa-taped for the entire Brexit 'debate'.

U2 Live - Mothers of the Disappeared 1987

Please, inform yourself about Mothers and Malvinas, both their children and conscripted soldiers were victims of the same dictatorship. You are making absurd and wrong conclusions about other country's internal matters. Only comparable with the twisted logic of the most stupid members of some intelligence agencies. If you believe there's an internal confrontation about Malvinas, you are wrong. That C/I/A imposed dictatorship was the worst tragedy in the history of our country, the attempt to recover the posession of the islands using force was a huge induced mistake only useful to Thatcher's political ambitions, but NOBODY in my country dares to say Malvinas does not belong to Argentina. It's the last tiny bit of land subject to territorial colonization.

Romans and many others invaded Britain, name it as you like, organize it politically or socially as you like. Obviously, you can draw the historical line when you like or when it best suits your interests, but facts are facts. It's not a shame being invaded or defeated, it's a shame to be a war criminal.

How gullible some people are. "Man of pain", "worrisome plaster", "touring while soo exhausted". Don't make me laugh. It's a carefully crafted image. He is playing with peoples' emotions and he is trying to shift a few more tickets by making people believe it's their last chance to see him before he dies. It's all ice cold and cynical.

I can't believe people fall for this crap.

When you're dying from cancer you are not physically able to stand on a stage with the spotlights on you and perform for two hours. You don't treat esophageal cancer (on the inside of the body) by sticking sticky plasters on the outside of your body. Neither do you treat an inflammation by sticking a sticky plaster on the affected area. This huge white is so strategically placed and attention-seeking it's laughable. CrankFraud indeed.
I didn't know morrissey was playing 2 hour sets, wow I'm looking forward to Manchester even more now, or are you just full of shit?

Loretta Swit

Call me Hotlips.
Disability chic? Hmmm...sorry, but that sounds ridiculous.

While it's true he has glamorized cuts and bruises, this is a bit different and in an odd spot. Not to mention there is inflammation underneath and around the bandage.
Well, in Helsinki he came on stage with a (smaller) chest bandage as well as one on his face. That lends a little more credence to the idea that it's a symbolic thing.

But, speaking as someone who was a caregiver to my aunt who had lung cancer....the chest bandage could indeed be covering up radiation burns. That's a common (and painful) side effect that can last months after treatment is finished.
But that would still mean his treatment was something in the past. The idea that he'd be traveling around the world while getting treatment right now is ludicrous. Sure, I suppose he could afford to have a full time oncologist on the tour with him, but I would bet money he is not doing so.

Anyway, he's about to have a nice three week break very soon.
I hope and pray he is-and continues to be-fine. :)

Hopefully Morrissey won't get leprosy and have to go on stage dressed like a mummy hiding his gaping wounds with lashings of bandages where body parts have fallen off - nose, ears, arms, one eyed trouser snake...

Is that the best you can do?

Make it an hour and a half then, makes no difference. A cancer-sick person couldn't pull that off either. A mate of mine is the singer in a hobby rock band and play small clubs and festivals. He loses 10 pounds every time, needs to rest before and after it's THAT exhausting. And he is 38 and healthy.

You see, the thing with you Morrissey apologists is that you just don't have any good arguments. There aren't any.

But neither Moz nor anyone around here said anything like that. In the interview Moz meant the aftereffects of some treatments. At least I took it that way.

Interesting because there is a guy in my train to work who has cancer and who receives aggressive treatment for it. He goes to work 4 full days a week, and the train takes 80 minutes. As with every illness and every treatment: People react differently to it. There is no handbook for it.

people are just growing more and more stupid. the united states were not part of the crusades either. the usa didn not exist back then. in fact, nobody alive is responsible for the crusades.

the british did not colonize the falklands, there was no argentina at the time, to even claim ownership. ownership based on what? proximity? there was no one in the falklands to be colonized.

At the time of the F
alklands conflict Argentina was run by a fascist military dictatorship led by Leopoldo Galtieri.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopoldo_Galtieri

Argentina owes its democracy today to the British. Like all defeated nations it is necessary to create a myth excusing its military humiliation. If the Brits ever lost a war I'm sure we'd do it too. If.

Even now every time an Argentinian leader faces domestic travails he or she reignites the Falklands issue. Kirchner was an expert at it, wrapping it up in the old colonialist Bolivarian socialist bullshit that still infests much of South America and any other nation which suffers from poor educational standards.

You'd never guess the Brits didn't colonise the southern part of the Americas if you listened to many of their leaders. We turned up late bringing railways and football. The Spanish brought the death and destruction some centuries earlier.
Spain decimated the Americas.
Argentina INVADED the Falklands. Even Jorge Luis Borges, who had fascist inclinations, eventually had to turn against the Junta.

I'm not a "morrissey apologist" I enjoy listening to morrissey/ smiths music and I love the gig experience that morrissey delivers, I also like his sense of humour and find him interesting, that's it, the problem with you haters is you really need to get a life and stop spending so much time fascinating about a singer who you obviously dislike, if I dislike someone then I ignore them, but then I'm not mentally disturbed

What an ableist comment.

Besides, for someone who claims to ignore those he dislikes you seem awfully invested in me. Ironic, no?

Mozambiguous statement on the state of Morrissey's career

A lot of people are saying that Morrissey is a CrankFraud. A lot. Myself, I don't have much of an opinion about it, I don't care either way, but a lot of people are saying it. Read into it what you will. You don't have to believe me, but it's true. I've heard it so many times. Trust me on this. Nobody knows Morrissey better than I do. Nobody. So I was surprised when I heard so many people saying that Morrissey is a Crankfraud.

He doesn't give the people what they want. I'm not the one saying it. He's coming to your town, he's taking your money, and he's not giving you what you want. I've had sources tell me that people are falling asleep at his concerts. He takes their money, they're fooled by him, and they fall asleep. The concerts are so boring that the audience can't even keep their eyes open for it. I've got the best sources on this, and they all say it.

People are waking up to Lyin' Steve. They wake up at his concerts after being fooled, and they know that he lies. Boy, does he lie. What sort of name is 'Steve' anyway? It even sounds like the name of a liar, but I don't care about that. And people have been telling me about how bad the band is. Awful. Like really, really bad. And they get the worst reviews. You've just gotta read what the reviews are saying. I would say he should get a new band, but I hear his career is over so that doesn't matter now.

It's sad. His concerts don't even sell out. And I read a story from a reputable news source that he's got HIV. Now that's not me saying it, but it came from a reputable news source. Another news source wrote about his conduct with children, but I don't wanna get into that. But why would they say it? I mean, I don't know. I don't know. You'll have to come to your own conclusions about that. It was posted on this website for everybody to see. And yet people bring children to his concerts. I wouldn't, but that's just me.

Morrissey-solo.com member Born to Harangue wrote a piece about that on this website in July 2015. Now, Born to Harangue is a respected user. He got rave reviews. And a lot of people gave him thumbs-up, the best people. So if he has stuff to say about Lyin' Steve's dark side then maybe we should listen. I don't know. I don't want to speculate. But it's starting to seem obvious that Lyin' Steve is a bad, bad guy. All the sources are writing about it. Respected, reputable sources. Born to Harangue and the two articles I already mentioned wrote about it. Plus all the numerous people who are saying that he's a CrankFraud. Is he? I have no idea. He might be. He might be. But the number of people who are saying it is rising every day. Actually, it's skyrocketing.

I really couldn't comment on if what they're saying is true or not, but I will say this. I'll just say one thing. These are respectable people who are saying it; pillars of their communities; patriots, hard-working people with families and decent careers. People who just want a fair shake from Morrissey. Why would they put their necks on the line and say that Morrissey is a CrankFraud if they didn't 100% know it to be true? And risk their reputations? It doesn't seem likely that they would lie, does it? That's not for me to say.

I'm not here to cast aspersions on Lyin' Steve's character, or on anybody else. I'm just here to give voice to the many, many people who hold grievances towards Morrissey and weren't being heard. And when I say 'many' I mean MANY. Like, a lot of people - maybe even more than he can get to show up to his boring concerts. So it's not looking good for him. If you add it all up it doesn't look good. He lost a lot of support and it's sad. He's built a huge wall between himself and his audience. I almost feel sorry for the guy. Almost, but not quite.

But it's evident that he's a basket case. Lyin' Steve. And I heard he tries to rob photographers of their livelihood. I took it upon myself to count up the number of positive and negative comments about Morrissey on this thread alone and he received about 39 positive comments and 50 negative ones. 50! That's a lot of negative comments. And on a 'fan' site too. So the numbers speak for themselves. I don't want to say any more about it because I don't like to take sides and it's not my place. But the people can see how the negative comments greatly outnumber the positive comments, and make up their own mind.

The people aren't stupid. They're tired of being lied to. And they're tired of Lyin' Steve. But I'm not going to take sides.
Thank you for reading and God bless DavidT, Kewpie, and Morrissey-solo.com.

Thank you everybody.
