i've seen a few things on the street....there was this asian guy in galway playing "dream of californication" on the streets, but that's about the only memorable thing i've seen yet.

I've no idea if it's true or not but someone has posted a rumour (see below) that Morrissey is going to be at Dave Couse's gig in The Hub (Temple Bar, Dublin) tomorrow.

Ta Pat

But they're never going to tour Oz, so at least I'll be able to declare them shite from experience. Anyway I've already got a fab coat which should suffice. I call it my 'walking womb'.

Did you hear that Suzanne!?

All is not lost! and you have nothing to lose.

Thanks Almodis.

I'm not sure Morrissey will be there,
as it's a venue which only holds about 500 people.

But you can enjoy the show if you're up for it, for 12 Euros.

well, that was a very uninteresting evening.....ok, dave couse wasn't too bad because he reminds me a bit of robyn hitchcock and its always nice having an excuse to check out good music, but unless mozzer was disguised as a table or a bartender, i didn't see one bit of him.

Yeah I didn't think he'd show. probably just a promotion trick.

But I thought you might enjoy an evening out with a crowd of
Dubliners.

Did they film the show?

I guess the safest bet is to go to a Morrissey show.

He allegedly was at The Sex Pistols show in LA at the beginning of the month.
So maybe he's not in the UK at all, though I think he is.

We'll know soon enough.

most of the time when someone comes here and says that he's going to be at some event, it never happens, so i wasn't really that surprised when i didn't see him. but i figured it was a better pursuit than sitting back at the hostel's movie night and watching yet another Steven Segal straight-to-video release.

> But I thought you might enjoy an evening out with a crowd of

partially. i sat there and drank a bit amongst an appreciative crowd, so that was it.

> Did they film the show?

does a couple of guys with handheld video cameras count? i was sitting next to one of them. what was the purpose of filming it anyway?

> I guess the safest bet is to go to a Morrissey show.

heh. out of the 4 show i've bought tickets for in the past, two of the shows actually happened. even that's not really much of a guarantee.

From Dave Couse's website (http://www.davecouse.com/):

"The tour kicks off in Dublin at 'The Hub' on the 26th of September. This show will be filmed for inclusion on the website."

So any chance we'll see you dancing on tables?

As you've said "most of the time when someone comes here and says that he's going to be at some event, it never happens"

That's the Morrissey approach to his shows.
I might be here smiling on time

ah yes. i didn't ask any questions, but figured that it obviously couldn't be anything too high tech. he mentioned he was on a label and had a new album out...

> So any chance we'll see you dancing on tables?

er....i dunno. the guy next to me got up and went to the opposite side of the venue and filmed the crowd. maybe it was pointed at me in the process, but in the end, its still an hour's show and i'll bet i didn't look too enthused simply because there were other people in the audience who actually knew his songs and were big fans....and i had a bit of a headache. i showed up early and killed time seeing The Revs at some free show across the street which meant standing in the blustery air for a long while and then coming inside and inhaling smoke.

i've never seen the Revs before. they were OK.

> As you've said "most of the time when someone comes here and says

pretty much. the biggest one being the rumor he was supposed to appear at the KROQ thing this year. obviously, that didn't happen. and there have been other rumors in the past of "he's going to be at someone's show...", but i don't think its ever panned out once that he actually appeared. its either people who like to like to start rumors for the hell of it and see who bites, or the word gets back to him that people know and might be looking for him and he pulls the plug on it.

still, i suppose that there were worse things to see. i've never heard of the guy before and i found it enjoyable. he did make a joke saying that his ex-band was compared to the smiths, but then he said, "but i thought we were a GOOD band..."

> That's the Morrissey approach to his shows.

sounds like a plan to me..

Did it take him 6 years like Morrissey?
It takes more time as you grow older, it seems.

Should we remember their name? Are they the 'next big thing'?

Maybe it can work in a third way. Morrissey hears the rumor and then decides to join in. What Killborn did back then was nice.

Yeah, he has a couple of songs on his website.
It's tolerable.
He has a Bono-ish voice at times.
