Back to the Future of Vauxhall...

After several hundred listens, I'm convinced. I feel like Morrissey's taken us back to 1994, anointed us with Vauxhallian brilliance, and shotgunned us back into 2004. All is right again: Moz's 2nd single will certainly be a hit, another cherry on the top of what has already exceeded the wildest expectations.
But his THIRD single can deliver an historic triumph. It doesn't have to be radio-friendly. The single must emblazon Moz onto the hearts and minds of the masses in a big way, and make him truly one of the greatest modern artists of all time. He must release America is Not The World.
With the right campaign, this risky act of extreme controversy will maintain his already increased fan base, and possibly ignite a media frenzy. Morrissey would be right were he belongs... at the forefront of popular culture.

You could almost see that song becoming the national anthem of Europe - not that I approve necessarily - but it has massive potential.

I'm sure it would do well in America too!

If I didn't know how the public these days will buy any crap, however musically exciting or brilliant it is, I would castrate you for even suggesting that America Is Not The World should be considered as a single release. However, I do know that the people will buy any crap - so I will agree with you. I can't see it happening though.

Tom.

Re: america is not the world storms the world

this is one of my favorite songs on the album. would take major balls to release as a 3rd single. would love to see it played during the 7th inning stretch in ballparks across the U.S.A., all together now, "you big fat pig, you fat pig . . . "

> Tempting. My top three are Jesus...Last of the gang and IBEH. but maybe you're right.

I totally concur, and if you look at the tracks off "Vauxhall" there is NOT a rum one in the bunch. YATQ & Vauxhall are almost head to head in total brilliance. I listen to YATQ DAILY ( mostly about 10 or 15 times on average, not much, I know ) And I am always discovering new wonderous things on YATQ, it's unreal. It's just BRILLIANT and f*** all who think it's not. (they're probably in a dank and horrible bedsit waiting for Rick Astley to come back). Thank you.
