Morrissey's Autobiography remains the number 1 selling paperback/softcover in the UK for the second week.

Alex Ferguson's autobiography is #1 in total sales this week:

Alex Ferguson beats rivals, smashes sales records - The Bookseller

Excerpt:

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson's memoir, My Autobiography (Hodder), has become the fastest-selling non-fiction book on record.

The most successful manager in the history of British football, Ferguson's £25 hardback autobiography sold 115,547 copies in the UK last week—the biggest first-week sale of a non-fiction book since official records began in 1998.

...My Autobiography comfortably tops this week's Official UK Top 50 ahead of former number one Morrissey's Autobiography (Penguin Classics, 26,248 copies sold) and David Walliams' Demon Dentist (HarperCollins, 25,808 copies sold). David Jason's memoir, My Life (Century), and Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (Cape) complete the top five.

Just wait till Fergies book is released in paperback, that'll knock him off his perch !
It's now clear why " the penguin classic " didn't come out as a hardback, it couldn't compete.
Well done Steven ! Numro-uno, NUMBER ONE, 1 ,1,1,1,1, Number 1 in the soft booky- wooky- club ! Fantastic achievement, lets not forget the fact that Steven still has NO record contract so he deserves a massive pat on the back for this !
WELL DONE STEVEN , LEADER OF THE HUMASEXUAL RACE

Re: Article: Morrissey's "Autobiography" remains the number 1 selling paperback/softcover in the UK

What is Moz's obsession with chart position? It's like boys at school competing to see who can piss the furthest. It's meaningless. Much more important is whether the book is any good. From what I've read, there are some good lyrical moments about growing up in Manchester, followed by a fairly tedious airing of all his various grudges and perceived wrongs. If fame and money don't make you even just a little bit happy, it suggests a serious lack of imagination...

This is so funny it hurts. The delusional troll continues to move the goalposts of consensual reality, just as he did when claiming to be bigger than Madonna in Israel and bigger than Radiohead in Athens.

You couldn't make it up! Did Morrissey just pull this out of his arse? Let's do the income figures:

Ferguson £25 rrp x 115, 547 = £2, 888, 675

Morrissey £8.99 rrp x 26248 = £235,969

So, Alex has generated more than 10 times the sales income. To compare like-for-like, we need to wait for the first week softcopy/paperback of Ferguson, which will be humungous.

I haven't read Ferguson's book yet as I'm saving it for a holiday read. However, a brief glance at the text makes it clear he's a better quality thinker and it's written with more skill than Morrissey's effort. If only Morrissey had agreed to a ghost-writer/editor/green ink scribe to delete tin foil hat conspiracy thinking!

Of course, like football and music groups, writing is also a team effort of publisher, editor, writer and sales and marketing. Morrissey ignored his publisher over content, wrote badly without an editor and now seems to have been made to look a complete fool by his sales and marketing team's erroneous feedback.

What a wonderful finale to his grandstanding claims about his unintentionally hilarious debut as a author. Cue Cult members claiming that it's not about sales, but the 'genius' art of Morrissey, even though that's clearly not uppermost in Dear Leader's mind as he throws the laptop against the hotel suite wall reading the real sales figures.

Will Morrissey pay tax on his sales income from this book in the UK? Alex Ferguson, though rich, is profoundly socialist with regard to his politics, even if he was taken for a ride by New Labour frauds like most other people. But not BrummieBoy, obviously!

A lovely start to the day! More coffee, more lulz..!

And yet you spent a week or more claiming it's "not about sales". As ever, your arguments are built on shifting sands...

"The delusional troll continues to move the goalposts of consensual reality" - yes, quite, the levels of projection in your posts are quite staggering.

"But not BrummieBoy, obviously!" More Quixotic grandiosity, I'm afraid, merely papering over a painfully wafer-thin ego.

There is a huge fight for publishing the book in Brasil. The Publishers here are sending their offers around $50.000,00

No, it's not about sales, other than for Morrissey who, by trying to pass this fraud sales report off, has once again fallen arse over tit.

Quixotic grandiosity? Well, yes, that's Morrissey!

Exactly. Ferguson is famous around the world, a genuine icon from Manchester to Manilla, with first week book sales to match. Morrissey? ahem!

Read Morrissey's ridiculous book. He has no problem ranting for pages about topics that he is less than enthusiastic about. This site isn't about Morrissey, it's about me, at least for me, after all, "how can anybody else possibly know how i feel?" I'm enthusiastic about other consumer products and services like a take-away or a trip to Alton Towers. Morrissey Cds and concerts are at the same level. Why would they be anything else? There's nothing on telly, and I can't think of anything better to do to waste time till I feel sleepy. That's it, no big reason.

Why? I'm happy with this one. No f*** off, Bogan, back to the tin shack you go with your tinnies. Of course, you probably live in Hull with that smelly snatch Fall fan, but like to pretend you live in Australia. Nice hobby, though, fantasising you live somewhere else. Moz spent a lot of his life doing it. Great deal of good it did him as "wherever you go, there you are!"
