Anyone watching the darts?

I love watching darts on the telly. It's a shame that the BBC only show the world championships each January.

Gripping match last night when Dave Chisnall came from 4-1 down to beat current champion Ted Hankey 5-4.

Then the next quarter final between Stockport's Tony O'Shea and Norways Robert Wagner.. well, the match wasn't as exciting, but what about Wagner, how much fake tan can a dart player get away with without being beaten up :lbf: According to wikipedia he was a bodybuilder before taking up darts

He reminds me of Steve "Bronzed Adonis" Beaton

Check out this classic image - dart player and 'dolly bird' - you can't make this stuff up!

Or with the mighty Tony Green

Let's Play Darts!

Ah, the mighty Steve 'The bronzed Adonis' Beaton. It was a simpler time Dave.

No.

Jukebox Jury

Still not got Freeview, Phill? Surely there are some bargains in the January sales http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...001&catalogId=1500001801&langId=-1&q=FREEVIEW

With the weather as it is, I suspect darts is the only sport going ahead this weekend http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fixtures/default.stm

Take a look at this... Classic Arrows http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/darts/8413587.stm

Including Paul Lim's 9 dart finish from 1990!

i just cant watch the bdo version it seems very second rate next to the pdc on sky, not one single player in that tournament is good enough to to worry the likes of phil the power taylor, you wonder how badly he would beat some of these no marks, im afraid there is only one real world darts champion and thats the power.

ARE YOU READY ladies and gentlemen LETS PLAY DARTS.. Ya gotta love the entrance music! Darryl fittons my favourite:lbf:

Martin Fitzmaurice...."It's WOOOLLLFFIIIEEEE!!" woooooo oooo ooooo!!

Yes, I always watch the arrers... great memories down the years.. Lim's 9 darter, Leighton Rees downing pints in one ('what an athlete')- Jockey falling off the stage, Brissey kissing Bobby George, etc..

Obviously, the PDC is different gravy but the BDO is worth watching for the comedy value.. it's like being down my local watchin all those 41's and 26's.
Now that 'The Count' is out, the Stockport 'Silverback' will have his hopes on avenging his last final defeat, where he clawed back a few sets to make it a gripping final. However Scotty 'Too Hottie' looks good to me this year - how the f*** Wolfie ever managed to win it in 2007 with that quiver in his throwing arm, i'll never know.. not to mention the burden of his pisshead wife Sharon in the crowd.

(incidentally, if I was Terry 'The Bull' Jenkins - i'd go back to the BDO for one season - win it and get some belief in myself..)

Sky TV to me is like Freeview to JJ - it's not gonna happen! So, I'm stuck with the comedy of the BDO.

Is Sid Waddell still doing PDC on Sky? He's sorely missed at the BBC. Wonder how many of these he actually said? http://www.talkdarts.co.uk/guides/sid_waddell_memorable_quotes.html
Big Cliff Lazarenko's idea of exercise is sitting in a room with the windows open taking the lid off something cool and fizzy.

An aficionado!

Never liked Woolfie - always thought he looks more like a bulldog liking piss than the woolf. Is he still the captain of the England team?

Dave

Ross Montgomery looks like Moz. It's been mentioned here before. By me.

Yes Dave - 16 years as England Captain. He has just clocked up the record number of appearances at the BDO Worlds - 17 consecutive.. beating Brissy and Jockey.

Anyone watching the women's final one the red button?

Rhian Edwards looks like she could out drink Jocky Wilson!

Dave

Sorry to quote myself... but this is pathetic.
26, 41, 40, 78! 55...

Why is there nothing else on the telly?

Dave

Well, the women's final was over within about 15 minutes. Best of two sets :lbf:

The winner got a cheque for £28.50...

Tony Green thinks she should get an honour from the Queen.

Dave

second semi wasn't bad either! Adams v Chisnall in the final tomorrow evening coverage starts 6.45

I didn't realise the second was on...just flicked through channels and noticed it had finished, been watching the match.
Hmmm quite a laddish day I am having......should slap a face pack on later whilst watching some chick flick just to even things out :lbf:

Sounds good I might do the same. Does top gun count as a chick flick? I watched it and the match at the same time.. some of us can multi-task :)
