It is certainly their most accessible to date. I think it a very good album; the fourth track, 'Little Panda McElroy,' is currently my favorite from this band. That being said, It is a little too poppy for my taste and lacks, for the most part, the mordancy of, say, "Knifeplay" or even "Chapel of the Chimes." But the biggest disappointment for me, as always, rests with Jamie's lyrics, which, when they are not simply inane, are so eccentrically personal (when they are not about some equally ideosyncratic other) as to preclude all but most brief, hesitant identification; in short, "It says nothing to me about my life" -or anyone elses for that matter.
