What is he like? Anyone from Manchester who know them or stories?
My coworker met him a couple years ago (I think) after a concert in Boston. Said he was nice, polite, serene-looking if I remember right. How accurate that is, I dunno, given his (coworker's) alcohol consumption that night. What is he like? Anyone from Manchester who know them or stories?
Oh Mr Pleasant, how is Mrs Pleasant?
I hope the world is treating you right,
And your head's in the air,
And you're feeling so proud,
'Cause you're such a success,
And the whole wide world is on your side, hey hey.
How are you today?
Yes, a number of times and Kenmare's co worker is correct, he's a lovely bloke and very humble. His wife is very pleasant as well.
Fantastic band!
Lovely to hear! How did you get to meet them? If you don't mind my asking.
No I don’t mind, he lives about a mile away from me in a village in Cheshire, so I see him a lot in the supermarket, walking around the village or at village events. Peter Hook lives about half a mile the other way and Steven and Gillian are in a village just outside Macclesfield, which is about 5 miles away. I see Hooky the most as he has a dog which he walks in the local park and his house is on a road which I run past regularly. Bernard is more secluded in and lives in a house behind gates.
Never seen Bernard with a dog but never asked if he has any animals. The lawsuit is over now and they have come to an agreement on what % Hooky will receive from future earnings. Hooky is a nice guy and have had a few conversations with him over the last few years, also had some of my JD/NO and The Light stuff signed by him. Funniest moment from having stuff signed was when he was in Halfords buying some windscreeen wipers for his car and I popped in for some wax and happened to have a Peter Hook and the Light CD in my pocket, which amazon has delivered to a nearby supermarket that morning.Wow! Nice.
Yeah, I heard it was called Alderley Edge or something?
Do the Sumners have any pets like Hooky? Always curious if Bernard was an animal fan. LOL. What's Hooky like? He's really, been, something lately..in terms of the lawsuit he had going against the band. Not the nicest stuff he's said, but yet he seems an okay guy outside of that.
Any cool stories about either Bernie or Hooky from your encounters with them?
Thank-you for your replies!
Lol, my wife was out with her mate the night he got done and when she came in she said he was pissed as a fart, was shocked at the headlines the day after though!Sounds like Stella Street up your way mate. Any Wayne Rooney stories?
This is great thanks! I'd love to meet Bernard even once. I love his music more and more as the years go by. If I need something to pick me up after a hard day I usually play a New Order CD and it always does the job.Never seen Bernard with a dog but never asked if he has any animals. They both appear to have done well since the factory records debacle as they both live in house that are worth well over a million pounds and drive extremely nice cars.
Don't you remember Ket when Surface said he saw JD play a couple of years ago?!! Wish I had!I'd rather meet Ian Curtis, though I guess we all will one day.
