Do you have the Natalie Merchant (10,000 Maniacs) cover of Everyday is Like Sunday?

Yep, are you looking for it?

It wouldn't even make a good ash tray to be honest.

Re: It wouldn't even make a good ash tray to be honest.

I think it's ok.

I think it is dire Laura, the million and one maniacs made a better job.
Don't you agree?
Nothing to write home about, but far better than the pretenders version.

I beg to differ, Chrissie's voice is lovely.

Well I've never held her in that high esteem to be honest, nothing against it but just nothing for it either. Then again, I've never thought much of many female vocalists. Aretha Franklin maybe or Gladys Knight etc but I really can't think of one white female vocalist that was up to much. Maybe Dusty Springfield would come closest to the mark but as far as females and vocals...no ....maybe thats just me. Nothing special in any of them. When I did buy records I don't think I ever bought an LP of a female, apart from the Motown compilation albums which included all the black singers, i.e Diana Ross blah de blah. Maybe its too late for me to think, but I am having difficulty finding my favourite female vocalist. She will undoubtedly be black though ...Nina Simone? or Dinah Washington? I was never much into female singers, don't know why. Tell a lie, I did once buy an album of Dionne Warwick.

How strange, we think exactly alike.

I've never cared for female vocalists with few exceptions.

Diana Ross, and Dusty for me.

Well, weve known all along it was meant to be.

However your wife and my husband just hated to admit it.

What more can I say.

I'ts all in the book.

Youre as nutty as me...silly sod!

Re: It wouldn't even make a good ash tray to be honest.

I listen to some female singers, like Joni Mitchell, k.d. lang, Kate Bush, Sarah Brightman, Barbra Streisand (early stuff), Joan Baez, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Chan Marshall (Cat Power) and Brazilian pop singers from the sixties up to now. But I must admit I have always been a fan of male rock singers.

Now I am really going. I need some sleep.
Good night, seriously flawed.

There are many female artists whom I admire and adore: Lisa Germano, Kris Force (Amber Asylum), Jenn Ghetto (Carissa's Wierd/S), Hope Sandova;, Marissa Nadler, Nicola Hodgkinson (Empress), Courtney Bowles (Spokane), Maria Taylor (Azure Ray), Jessica Bailiff, Katie Sketch (The Organ), Carolyn Berk (Lovers), Mimi Parker (Low), Elizabeth Downey (Sir) and others.

Also, I am easily enraptured by a good soprano: Maria Callas, Dawn Upshaw, Sylvia McNair etc.
