although all the albums are unbelieveable, morrissey was at his best in Your Arsenal

Disagree, altho its a wonderful album, i do love my Vauxhall! Its the first album in my opinion that Morrissey's band dont sound like The Smiths Part 2, and therefore is the best.

VauxHall

Bona to Vada

f*** off.

Viva Hate, Bona Drag, & Vauxhall were better.

Why?

The lyrics were far superior, for starters!!

Stephen Street and Britpop

I think Morrissey was best when he was with Stephen Street.
As I was driving to work the other day I thought what might have happened if the Morrissey/Street partenership had continued, how would that affect Morrisseys standing as an artist today and what influence would it have had on the "Britpop" era and Streets relationship with Blur.

Southpaw

What is that album all about?

Morrissey has all the success with "Vauxhall and I", a number 1, extreme puplicity with 50ft billboards in most major towns, two high profile record shop signings, he was riding the crest of a wave.

then

He leaves EMI pretends he's been beaten up, releases a poor "best of", blows all the money on coke and records "Southpaw" for RCA with it's coke induced 10 minute songs.

Re: Stephen Street and Britpop

Might I enter the fray, just to say, I feel the exact same way you do.

Thank you. You articulated it beautifully.
