Morrissey Central "Alert!" (October 26, 2020)

So you want a fawning, unchallenging hagiography rather than an interview?
I remember the Q and As on True To You from the mid-late 2000's, all questions submitted by fans. They were fabulous. Better than any interview from 2010 and onwards. Not all of his fans are stark raving mad neo-nazis or easily offended millenial snowflakes.

As an addition: at my workplace, at the time of the initial out break, more vulnerable people were allowed off work with pay. And people with suspected symptoms were paid sick pay from day one. Both those ‘benefits’ have been withdrawn and there is no sign of them returning. The costs of these provisions was/is minuscule compared to lockdown costs for the business. Nevertheless, where foresight is needed short term profits are the focus.

Combined with a car crash testing system, I would say that (almost unbelievably) the UK is actually inviting the virus spreading. Business is now washing its hands of responsibility, the sanitisers and goodwill are both drying up. And the state can’t adapt. The latter apparently has just two historically dreadful defaults: (1) “we don’t give a f***” and (2) martial law.

i remember those gregor, just questions that were sent in by fans, not too serious.we live in much more serious times so anything he says now is picked apart and studied in detail with people just looking for faults.also those questions would now be classed as hand picked.

ill explain: he considers his girlfriends bucknaked prancing to be great art along the lines of gustav klimts paintings, therefore he is not a cuck (just as klimt was not a pornographer) but rather the purveyor of great art.

I think she is better than Klimt.
I would not give myself the place of a purveyor.
The other parts are correct.
Thanks for your translation from English to Trump vocabulary.

Sadly, you are correct. These really are awful times.

For me, I’d like to know about his BMG record deal and what are the outstanding obligations, if there are any?

On the face of it, I would think Morrissey would want to use his back catalogue in negotiations for a next or further deal. In short, I’m curious why he’s trusting BMG with a Ringleader re-release if they’ve no interest Morrissey currently?

and the other part was that if one doesnt agree that your girlfriends bucknaked prancing is great art one had just better go back to a time before the renaissance or enlightened thought

but the question remains: what if one doenst think klimt was a pornographer but thinks nonetheless, as some do, that his art was shit?

This is indeed the case.

Shortly before he died, earlier this year, we were told my dad had Covid-19 on two occasions, once in April and once in August. We wanted tests on each occasion; he was tested on each occasion—and proved negative each time.

In April he was ultimately treated for a urinary infection and made a good recovery. In August he was ultimately diagnosed with pneumonia; he was treated and responded but medicines were ultimately withdrawn—for reasons which would bring their own controversy.

After the withdrawal of medication he died: Frankly it was a relief as I was getting sick (nearly to the point of death) with people speculating falsely that he had the coronavirus. There are many people with similar stories.

I will conclude by saying that on the second occasion he was falsely diagnosed with Covid, he was placed on a Covid ward: half the patients did actually have it; it was guess work with the other half. Insane doesn’t cover it. Shield your eyes and ears if you don’t like it, but the word ‘Covid’ is covering up a thousand sins.
I’m sorry for your loss Hovis, hope you have family and friends around you

Go back? I think you have to leave a place or time before trying to return there... It often works that way.
But the question remains: what if one doenst think klimt was a pornographer but thinks nonetheless, as some do, that his art was shit?

Those persons should certainly vote for Trump.

you think klimt is high art?

i mean i like it, it's dazzling to look at, but perhaps we can agree that it's a little tacky?

I’ve just come out of isolation after testing positive the other week. It’s deadly serious. I was very lucky, I’ve lost my taste and smell, had some muscular aches / sore throat. One thing I didn’t get was a high temperature. I’m now taking it easy for a couple of days.
Look after yourself everyone and stay alert and safe.

Sorry for your loss Hovis.

Karma..... best wishes, Elizabeth...

ergo, skylarkers answer should have been: no, he wasnt a pornographer but the importance of gilded naked ladies in art is highly debatable.

which brings us back to you being a cuck.

Given that the 20th Century gave us The Futurists, DaDa, The Letterists, Punk and (indeed) Morrissey, it’s slightly surprising that Klimt is still referenced by anyone. I know money talks, but we are not obliged to be its mouthpiece.

Out of sheer respect? Or because what I said was entirely accurate?
Coronavirus is real. It is not a myth. As a novel virus it is clearly much more virulent than seasonal flu. But compared to other pandemics in world history - this one has a good survival rate. When the virus swept through the Diamond Princess cruise ship - about 700 people on board tested positive and 9 died. You do the math. 9 is 9 too many - but the idea that we should be shutting down the economy is crazy. Lockdowns will kill more than the virus - from missed cancer diagnosis and heart disease and mental illness and suicide.

No, from my perspective and reality what you said wasn't entirely accurate. Maybe that kind of statistics applys to your reality. In mine, it doesn't.

Here, yes, most of the 150k who died (and are still dying) were elderly people, who might have lived many years more if not infected by Coronavirus. So, it is the virus what killed them, and not a previous manageable illness they might have had. It is real. Many doctors, nurses, public health service workers died too. And many young people. Even children.

Therefore, Covid-19 is a real threat, and one should be as careful as possible to prevent it.

I do not minimize the death of the elderly as many ageists, sociopaths do: Oh! that's life... old people die... etc. etc... the economy is more important... You know that kind of cold, heartless, blasé kind of thinking.

Go tell Morrissey that his mum was 82 (died of cancer), so he should've expected her death sometime soon, and not have felt so deeply hurt by his loss.

Instinctually, all the living creatures want to keep on living, except those who choose suicide when faced with dilemmas they cannot figure out.
