Brilliant!

It was good to see ya there and I hope you make it out to at least one of the upcoming shows *taps foot impatiently*

i looked in that album and found exactly what i thought i would find:

Jay taking pictures of people he tries to pass off as his friends, Jay taking photos of some hot chicks he's trying to pick up, and Jay next to his "good buddies" Red Lightning.

Who is that girl...

In 785, and 793 - on the right. Very cute!

Great pix. Alain looks to be in very high spirits.

The record store itself looks like a great shop.

Funny thing perception is.... I was thinking the exact opposite. I think he looks rather down and in one of the pictures, it seems like he's about to start crying. Same with the video message...that's not the Alain I used to know.

Re: Who is that girl...

Hmmm, well maybe I meant to say he looks very healthy. There were times on previous Morrissey tours he looked less than such.

I watched the video footage

He is either on medication, or drugs in my humble opinion, he can barely speak at one point.

I do hope he recovers.

Why the quip about Jay suzanne baby, he looks ok to me!

well perhaps he does look slightly dubious, I must admit.

I'd kill for that "we hate it when our.. " poster, i want it !!!

The video...

I watched that after the pictures -- his speech does seem slurred. He seemed a bit out of it in that other video interview by a young music journo, maybe a few months ago.

All the best to Alain, anyway.

Re: The video...

He wasnt feeling very well that day. He told everyone that he had a throat infection from the get-go. I think it was great he even showed up feeling ill, Im sure Moz as much as we all love him, would have canceled!

Fair enough. I'm sure he'll be back to his old self soon.

This is kind of inappropriate, but after all the hassles The Smiths went through with royalties, percentages etc etc. I've always wondered what kind of deal Boz and Alain have over the years with respects to co-writing with Moz for what's now almost 14 years.

Do you get the impression that Alain can now live comfortably on his royalties and do what he really wants -- Red Lightning?

I only ask because I've always hoped that Boz and Alain got fair deals.

I have no idea about any business aspects of the band, I suppose even if I did I would not be at liberty to discuss it. Honestly, I kinda don't want to know..not my place and all.

I do know for a fact that Alain has always wanted to front his own band, and put out his own records. Forming the band Red Lighting with John and Milo has made this dream come true. "Comfortable" or not, I know he is happy playing making music and for the fans to come and see him. And really what could be better for any musican but that?

I prefer the one on the left.

I think they both have very pretty faces and fine figures, but the fake blonde hair turns me off. My pet peeve (besides dragonlady fingernails) is dark eyebrows with bleached hair unless it's a deliberate punk effect. It always looks tacky and usually signifies porn chick to me.

Re: Who is that girl...

The girl on the right definitely doesn't need all of that fakery. As you said, she has a very pretty face.

Girl on the right -- if you're here, say hello!

Of course I don't know any details, but both Boz and Alain own houses so it can't be all that bad. Publishing deals usually share all royalties equally, meaning, of all the money that doesn't actually remain with the publisher, half goes to the lyricist, the other half to the songwriter. Seeing since Moz and the lads are signed to different publishers, this might be different as it's more open to negotiations. But then again, it might not be and Boz and Alain put together have basically earned the same money as Moz from his solo work they were involved in.

Of course it's also a question of how well you hold your money together... and especially Alain is known to be rather careful in that department. So basically, I don't think they'll need a donation appeal anytime soon.
