I like Alain but man, the lyrics are borderline comical and his singing is pretty awful. His band would be so awesome if they were in their early 90's prime...could you imagine seeing them tour in 1991 or '92?
Alain is the man as far as I am concerned but yes the lyrics are very clumsy and his vocals need some work. He needs a good producer to wrangle all the rough edges into some solid shape he can use. The song has it's moments where sounds pretty good but just around the corner is some woeful singing.

After all of his time with Morrissey one would think some of that poetry might've rubbed off on him but clearly it hasn't. On a positive note I can hear the makings of a solid song there but it just sounds like a demo at this point and unfortunately it's already pressed. Hate to say this stuff btw cause I love the guy.

Also is the song just a bit damn long for this kind of song? Feels like a 2 min 30 sec would o it wonders.

loving Tell Me and playing it regularly, its a real grower and catchy as fook, well done alain, great musician.

Hi and sorry for the delayed response. And no thanks needed, but you're quite welcome.
Yes, there will be a bundle with the cd. Discounted, as well like the previous EP's. Also, digital download cards included. One will include the standard EP tracks and the other will have acoustic tracks on. Should be up on the site very soon.

Ya gotta lotta informed info there.
Do ya work with Al's website or somethin'?
Yeah, I'm the Turkerator, so I know a lotta stuff to dude.

His Red Lightning "LA Crash Landing" ep is even worse. I think I did actually laugh at some of those lyrics. At this point, he needs to just write songs and do backup vocals. He tried though, I give him that.

Decent song I’d say. Is Alain’s the last quiff standing?

ASAP Rocky was arrested the other day, I don’t know if he’s been released. But basically, the next Morrissey related release after this could/should be the Rocky LP—according to the man himself.

I expect the Chilli Peppers support slot is at risk, for ASAP. Does this put his record back? I only ask because this is the most significant Morrissey news since 2003, and it’s not being discussed. I’m f***ing excited.

What’s wrong with you lot?

Mmmmm. Aghhhh. Good musical arrangement , voice. No. However. Good for you. A. !

I listen to this song several times a a day, that and the new Psy single, not sure what to make of that :ROFLMAO:

:)

Alain had more peeps at the signing than the old beaner :handpointright::guardsman::handpointleft:
and he interacted kindly with the fans🥳
he didnt hide behind a thick wide partition in fear that a tiny convid spec may fly by the vecinity💪

:hammer:

A collaboration with ASAP Rocky is bullshit...

Basically what I am trying to say about Alain here is that I think he is better than this release. With a skilful producer this track could be killer!

I think Alain is a great guy, a great songwriter, I'm really glad he's back in the band, but I'd have to echo a lot of comments here. The music is fine, but the lyrics and vocals are ultimately very mediocre - and as much as I want to love these tracks, I just can't.

At least with Marr's material - love it or hate it - but it doesn't always sound as though it's missing Morrissey's vocal presence (especially as a lot of it leans towards electronic stuff, or away from the typical Smiths sound). With Alain's stuff though, I just can't help but hear the ghost of a better Morrissey vocal/lyric somewhere in the background. I mean, this song is nice - but I can just image how awesome it would be as a Morrissey song:

Just got around to listening this EP, and it’s really great! If this is any indication of the quality of the stuff he’s recently written for Moz, we’re in for a TREAT.
