abstract Q. - Is there a line(s) or song from Moz (solo) that makes you think of the Smiths?

Haha, yes. "Bengali In Platforms" because of the claim on IMAET that The Smiths had planned to do a punk rock version of it. But that's not the response I think you were looking for.

Songs that lyrically and musically remind me of The Smiths are mainly early ones. Suedehead (duh). Disappointed. TLOTFIP. Sister I'm A Poet. Interesting Drug.

And now, there is something that you should know
There is something that you should know
The girl of your dreams is
Here all alone
Girl of your dreams is
Here all alone
The girl of your dreams is
Sad and all alone

These lines from Southpaw flood my mind with the imagery, and the lyrics Moz wrote as a Smith. These lines make me think of The Smiths and the canon of their work, even though the Smiths broke up when I was 14.

The song, "Sister I'm a Poet" has always sounded Smith-ish to me, especially these lines:

All over this town
Yes, a low wind may blow
And I can see through everybody's clothes
With no reason
To hide these words, I feel
And no reason
To talk about the books I read
But still, I do

Ditto for "Billy Bud" and these lines in particular:

I took my job application
Into town
Did you hear? they turned me down
Yes, and it’s all because of us
Oh, and what was in our eyes
Oh, what was in our eyes, yeah
