What "worked"? And where do you get the idea I was upset? Your original post just made you look like an idiot - I'm not fussed if you want to advertise your idiocy.
Upset for the second time and you should be careful with your blood pressure.

28 songs is one of the longer set lists I can remember in quite some time. This is quite exciting.

How many rent boys did Moz bring this time and according to DM online he works as an escort himself under the nickname "Big chips tits available for workout". He can try but he can never run from cancer as it always returns and kills ya.

But if you loved the new album then I assume you would like the setlist? Do people go to a Moz concert expecting 15 Smiths songs back to back?
Apologies I said 10, lost count but reading back the setlist it was 9 songs off the latest album , but I still stick with my point that so many off the low in high school LP is overkill, no touring artist / band promoting a new cd should be doing so many new songs in their live show at the expense of the back catalogue that Morrissey can choose from , it’s complete overkill and actually works against promoting / selling the album given that it was quite clear that the casual fans at the gig were bored / went to bar as the tempo was keep decidedly low key as the videos and student politics were trundled out and let’s face it the quality of the songs (& especially the lyrics are decidedly lacking on previous albums). Tonight’s show wouldn’t have anyone running out to buy the album if they didn’t have it, in this case , less is definitely more.

Speaking with people in the queue for the bus back into town there was a definite feeling of, yeah great to see Morrissey , but why didn’t he play ..../ too many off the new record , it was a 6 / 10 Morrissey gig and given its a Friday night the crowd should be more ‘relaxed’ if he sticks to that setlist on a school night the atmosphere in big arenas is going to be very flat.

Of course he picks the setlist he wants but there is a continual stubbornness / career self destruction / denial (surrounded by yes men no doubt) not telling him straight that he’s not doing himself any favours with the material / pacing of the set.

Had a good time at the afterparty at brewdog (the old SNAFU club)....if only a few of those songs had been in Morrissey own set.

Glasgow tonight, I’m hoping that several low in high school numbers get dropped or i fear that in the bigger Hydro arena / seating areas , the set is going to feel rather One paced and folks attention will wander, also drop bullfighter & world peace , 2 dull back catalogue tracks that nobody misses / were bad enough on those album tours

I can agree with many of your points and 1 or 2 fewer new songs would probably balance the setlist out a little.

Having said that, I think anyone going to a Morrissey show should know that they are going to be getting plenty of new and obscure songs. The fans got to hear 5 hits (and a well known cover) which is more than at some shows and some cool rarities.

And if he did play more hits, then I'm sure we would have plenty of people complaining that it is too much of a nostalgia show and "money for old rope".

Here's the preshow videos

1. Loudmouth by The Ramones (1975 video)
2. Something Here in My Heart by Paper Dolls
3. How Soon is Now by t.a.T.u (Top of the Pops 2003)
4. Sound of the Crowd by The Human League (TV performance?: )
5. I'm Black and I'm Proud by James Brown (Playboy After Dark 1969)
6. Someday Someway by Robert Gordon
7. "We're Rich. We're family (?)" - film clip unknown to me
8. Don't Make Me Over by Dionne Warwick (1963)
9. "How important is one's nationality to one's identity" - British comedian clip
10. God Save the Queen by the Sex Pistols
11. "The truth is, no 'white' American is sure he is white." - Jame Baldwin clip from "Baldwin's N----" (London, 1969: )
12. Sally's Song (from The Nightmare Before Christmas) by Fiona Apple (with montage of old b&w monster movie clips -- I'm unable to locate this montage video on youtube)
13. "There was a lot of rubbish" (?) female comedian clip unknown to me
14. L'insoumis film clip (from which the cover of The Queen is Dead is taken)
15. It's the Same Old Song by The Four Tops
16. Jet Boy by The New York Dolls
17. Lipsynka clip

Pre-show videos came on right at 8:30, show started about 9:15 and ended at about 10:40.

For When You Open Your Legs, "I am asked to leave this club in Tel-Aviv" was humorously changed to "this club in Aberdeen."

The crowd really picked up with If You Don't Like Me. I Bury The Living was well received by the audience and even though I personally don't enjoy the song, I think it was really well performed. Israel was also well received, despite it being a controversial song. This is my perspective from being on the barrier, rather than back a few rows where there might be less die hard fans, so you can take it with a grain of salt.

As to the inevitable complaints about the setlist. You may not like the songs, but at least acknowledge that the set list doesn't simply stay the same. Munich Air is played infrequently, Who Will Protect Us has only been played a few times, Hold on to your Friends is rarely played. When's the last time Irish Blood was sung? Three songs made their concert debut tonight: Girl from Tel-Aviv, I Bury the Living, and Israel. Not to mention that many UK concert-goers haven't been to a show in over a year and have never seen many of these songs performed live unlike their friends across the pond. The last UK date was a single date in Manchester Aug 2016, previously the last UK tour was 2015.

Many thanks for providing information.

I saw periscope footage posted by FWD, #13 is Australian author Germaine Greer. She's not a comedian!

(I was not at this show)

That said, based on the setlist, this looks like a really tough show.

It’s not a direct commentary on any of the songs (there are obviously some awesome ones in here).... but from a “holding the audiences interest” perspective, this setlist is about as challenging as Morrissey could possibly get in 2018.

Awful setlist, too much new content, a few older songs not played for years would be nice, morrissey has one of the best back catalogues of any artist and he refuses to play them, would love to hear ‘hairdresser on fire’ or ‘seasick yet still docked’

Dial a Cliche. Go support The Rolling Stones instead and hear all the hits night after night after night...

Suedehead:

Bit of Sunday:

Someone did quite well:

FWD.

HUGE c***. NO MORE.
SORRY HUGH. HUGE BELLEND REIGNS NO MORE.
BUT HUGE PRICK WAS THERE SINCE 1886, SLAGGING OFF FELLOW FANATICS. .. EH? LEAST WE FORGET.

HUGE HUGH DICK SHIT FOR BRAINS, YOU WERE BANNED AS YOU'VE COMMIT A HEINOUS AND DREADFUL CRIME #IBLAMETHESKAGHEADPARENTSANDFAKEBINBAGVEGANS

Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I remember, it was Hugh who gave David T away when he was banned years ago.

From what I've heard, Hugh isn't the only old regular banned. When these people go to enough gigs, they make themselves very familiar to the crew and band (hell, most of them are friends with Boz Boorer, Mando etc on Facebook). Following the interviews last year, several fans who had followed Morrissey for years decided enough was enough, and started openly questioning or condemming his 'racist' views online. Most of them have decided not to attend the shows anyway, as a matter of principle, but their names and faces are known, and it seems they have been added to the official banned list along with David T, etc. Hugh was obviously conflicted - he loves the man and the music, but not some of his political views, so decided to go anyway.

I'm conflicted on this myself. It's Morrissey's show, so he can have who he wants ejected, and security might be genuinly afraid someone will heckle him and he'll walk off and cancel the show. Hugh is also a regular stage invader - how's he going to feel when he jumps up for a hug, knowing he's called him a racist online?

On the other hand, this is an artist who supposedly champions people thinking for themselves, so such 'you must accept Morrissey's views without question or be banned' behaviour is pretty disappointing. I reckon about 80% of the people who post on Morrissey-Solo would be banned from gigs, if the crew could identify them.

Reckon fookin blood hell m8! Was this a 65 and over show inn nn it? Why is it when Malibu Steve does shows in foreign countries everyone has gray hair and looks like they are wearing adult diapers.
