I'm sure I'm note the only person who visits this site that likes to read and write poetry.
Who are some of your favorite poets?
and do you write I would love to read some of your work.

here is one of mine, enjoy.......

-ATTENTION DEFICIT-

The skies have turned to fire
with no explanation
my insides turned out
you really got me good
what a beautiful harmony you bring
until the last riff
confusion, blows through my mind

Drowning in a pool of lies
it's not the first time
staring upward with crying eye's
a scratched record continually plays
Introduction to a lost boy
without a path to follow

Slits on my wrist
the only thing that makes sense
you can save me though
before the screaming demons take me home
your distraction by the butterflies, I ask why?
oh well, good bye for good.............

and for those naughty, bad message writers who never have anything nice to say, Thanx for your criticism.

Lovely poem, I would never have the courage to post any of mine on here, people are just to cruel

I like W.H. Auden and Thomas Hardy. Ted Hughes. Shakespeare. I haven't written a poem since I was six.

Very nice, "Oscar." My favorite poets are William Blake, William Shakespeare, and Sylvia Plath. My favorite poems are Blake's two versions of "The Chimney Sweeper." I used to write poetry, but I stopped a couple of years ago.
