Which venues is he looking at then. if not the Arena? I can only think The Apollo would be the next likely one.

The Etihad and Old Trafford :D

He doesn’t know. He’s just guessing, you know, pretending to be in the know.
A blind squirrel will stumble across an acorn eventually.

I'm not guessing. I've posted exactly what I know. Why would I "pretend" to know what little I've said? It's hardly groundbreaking information. I've been informed that promoters have 2 possible venue options in Manchester. Hardly makes me Billy Big Bollocks now does it?

If you think Newcastle is "much of a muchness" to the likes of Leeds and Birmingham you've either not been to the 'Toon' ever or spent so little time there you have not been able to form a proper impression.

Get a hotel early if you plan to come to Newcastle for the gig. That's not because of the Moz show, it's Friday night and it's stag and hen party central. Even in the dead of winter the bars and clubs are open all night. Come, the locals are friendly, not up themselves at all. Everyone welcomed.
....
"Much of a muchness"...........not likely.
Been to Newcastle once and that was enough, absolute pigsty of a place, bars are an absolute rabble, stag and hen central says it all really, not the type of place for moz fans to enjoy s civilised night out , I love South Shields though

Pretty sure he’ll add some more, possibly waiting to see how tickets sales go, I think he’ll add a date in Edinburgh, maybe the usher hall again, great venue
Why would he add another date in Scotland?

Everything that comes out of your mouth is ill informed crap and total shite.

I understand why he does it, as it obviously grosses more money - but I really do hate these UK arena tours of recent years. Huge, soulless venues, terrible sound, and the stage miles away. I really miss the 'Quarry-Ringleader-Refusal' days, when he would still regularly play smaller, interesting venues on full-length UK tours. Will we ever see those heady days again?

1. Don't forget the 'label' are organising things currently. This makes a BIG difference.

2. Can you imagine Iggy Pop at The Sheffield City Hall ? - god help the front row!

3. We. Must. Cross. Fingers. And. Wait. Forever.

I didn't realize Iggy invited everyone on stage and then got naked. If he got naked first and then invited?

Someone get M high in Portlandia, I need this!

Maybe once he's raked the cash in with the enormo-domes, there will be another leg later on in some decent venues? Either that, or there is still a chance of some smaller venues in continental Europe.

That's me told! Nowhere in the whole of Newcastle for civilised socialising for visiting Moz fans. That must have been quite the day you spent there. Complete shite but the internet welcomes that.

Where do you live? This should be good.

Morrissey is returning to Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena in February for what will be his first north east date for almost seven years.

"His appearance on Friday, February 23, will only be his second date at the venue, his previous visit having been back in December 2006 to promote his eighth solo album, Ringleader of the Tormentors, released in April that year."

It was two days actually, two days of my life that I’ll never get back, I live in Glasgow, it’s almost as bad as Newcastle, well the shitty bits are anyway

His name isn't "Iggy Pop" it's James Newell Osterberg Jr. Blikey bloomin' onion, every time I try to leave this shiteeee pulls me back.

Steve "announces" a tour and maybe actually tickets do go on sale, but how can you Brits and wannabe Irish Catholic people think that old Uncle Steve is going to tour these weird freezing foreign places in February and March? If he even gets on the plane at LAX to leave home and flies for 250 hours all the way to London, what makes you think he won't cancel when he breathes in that cold polluted air and and gets sick and says he has lost his voice. Southern Californians like Steve cannot handle cold weather. He knows that you desperate foreigners will keep coming back for more.

A date will be announced. Currently in discussions with 2 venues. So maybe even two dates.

Before they go on sale? I don’t want to buy Leeds to then find a Manchester date is added.

Plus if it is possibly two dates, it must be the Apollo...which isn’t the greatest venue TBH. Mind you, it’s better than an arena. I was at his 50th birthday gig at the Apollo and the security were a bit heavy handed! The best place would be castlefield bowl, I saw James there this summer, and it was superb.
