2007 Cure North American Dates

So...do they really suck live?

I think they're great live. The Toronto show in September will be the 6th time that I've seen them. You will love them live if you appreciate both aspects of Cure: the gloomy dark side and the brighter poppy side. If you are a fan of only one or the other, you could be disappointed. The set list can vary based on Robert's moods. The last time I saw them in Cleveland on the Curiosa tour, they avoided most of the poppy singles and focused on darker material, including a bunch from Pornography and Faith. This was a dream-come-true for me, but my wife, who is more of a casual fan, was a little let-down. She would have liked to have heard "Just Like Heaven," "In-Between Days," and "Boys Don't Cry." Had we gone to any other shows on that tour, she would have been much happier as those songs were typically on the set list for that tour, just not in Cleveland.

My Dh wants to go. I couldn't care as much. He saw them live once, way back in the late 80s- but it was Tinley Park World Music Theatre, the worst venue known to man.

I'm waiting for the rest of the onsale dates- we'll be seeing them in Chicago.

does anybody know if pre-sale codes have been made available yet?

i think they've always been fantastic live. having grown up w/ them, it's interesting to see the band and the material mature. and Robert Smith & Co have always played good lengthy shows packed with their hits.

i remember they did a gig at the Great Western Forum back in the '90s - midway through the set, the power went out (great black out of the '90s in Cali). i heard everyone just brought out lighters and the band kept on singing.

I was at that show too. That was an interesting setlist. But I went with a causal fan as well, they were so bored.

Hope you have already purchased tickets, a lot of venues have already gone on sale....

Just got my Toronto ticket in the mail. Unfortunately, I will be driving alone. My wife has to work at 4 AM. Maybe I can find a goth chick to occupy my time. Just kidding.
