    'Revocation' offended me.
    'J Cole' made me giggle.

'Final Fantasy' & 'Neon Indian' were the standouts.
    No JOHNNY REB, but still....

    Ta for that.

Where are 'Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros'??

Y'know what? Actually I really wish good bands didn't become hugely successful and start rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kasabian and all those other, 'Whay! Look at us! We're tosspots!' bands.

Maybe that's just me being old-fashioned.

the guy behind cold cave, wes eisold, is a pretty big morrissey/smiths fan. he used to be in a hardcore band that was called american nightmare, later renamed as give up the ghost. his lyrics were a bit of a revolution in the hardcore community, he was very much inspired by morrissey. the same wit, use of words and stripped to the bare essentials. he wrote a book (deathbed) of which the cover shows him and a girl in bed. the girl on the frontpage, him on the backpage ... he's huging a pillow that has a smiths t-shirt as casing.

not that you care, but i thought it might be nice to share.

a member on this board has a tatoo of that american nightmare band. find the morrissey/smiths link ;)

There's also a one man band called, 'Foxes in Fiction'
He's very much unknown and unspoilt by the world of modern music - Which helps immensely.

The album, which you can buy on cassette, I do believe, is called 'Swung From The Branches' and also the art work is top quality.

i'm pretty sure moz has been influencing lyrics in hardcore for far longer than eisold has been making music.

2001? they were still in diapers!

they do early New Order better than late New Order does early New Order

i'd say cccandy and ///▲▲▲\\\ are gonna blow up big in '010, but that's just me

Cold Cave's 'Love Come Close' is just New Order's 'Your Silent Face'..

Certainly no JOHNNY REB... (I'll stop now... maybe)

i was gonna come to their defense, but if you play them both at the same time it sounds like a remix. still, Cold Cave's song doesn't have the cheesy synth-harmonica and has better lyrics. so...there!

i refuse to believe a group with such a stupid name would be worth listening to. though i do like Best Coast...

fuckfrankie..have you seen/heard the band Crystal Stilts yet..and if so any thoughts..I saw both them and Cold Cave open for Comet Gain last year and could have sworn I was at a new order/joy divison tribute show.

I'm open to see Cold Cave again before I pass final judgement..

And "the boy who", you may wanna rethink that band name before pressing your cd..just a suggestion :thumb:

    ta modrevolve...

we know it alludes to a particularly disgusting image but it's more a nod to the confederate soldiers who died for an ideal that was ultimately wrong and one that they could never achieve (i.e. the southern elite owning all the slaves)...

    (exhales) anyway, where were we....

Howard Eliot Payne (formerly of the Stands... www.myspace.com/howardeliottpayne)
    & She Keeps Bees (www.myspace.com/shekeepsbees)

Both should become quite successful this year... Though, whilst we're on the topic, neither are that original...
    Regards.

I think that Justin Beiber chick is primed and ready for a big 2010. I just wonder when her boobs are going to fill out. She's a total surfboard. Remember boys and girls, age of consent in many states is 16!

Crystal Stilts are pretty good, but i'd say they're more Cramps than JD
