I assume he is unaware of their move to a membership and digital approach?

In 2014, The Guardian launched a membership scheme.[117] The scheme aims to reduce the financial losses incurred by The Guardian without introducing a paywall, thus maintaining open access to the website. Website readers can pay a monthly subscription, with three tiers available.[118] As of 2018 this approach was considered successful, having brought more than 1 million subscriptions or donations, with the paper hoping to break even by April 2019.[119]

There's a fundamental lack of reasoning from the Mozster here. If he is crediting them with his own lack of success (which, as we all know, is self inflicted) for printing factual accounts, then he is crediting them with a degree of influence.

Why, then, is he highlighting his perception of their lack of influence?

It's (a) because he's a petty nutter, who will never take responsibility for his own failings, and (b) there's nothing to see there.

Obviously nothing but facts in here, so a good and relevant post.
The Guardian is a minor player in the UK newspaper-market and however much they are trying to ruin Moz' career, they will have next to no influence on his UK fanbase.
As the number 4 in the UK album charts already has proven.

You keep papping on about number 4. Number 4 means nothing, it had 8300 sales? Something has had an impact, that's 16700 less than LIHS and less than Johnny's Call The Comet first week sales.

Well in that case looking forward to the SUN exclusive Mozzy :lbf:

Only 8300 sales and less than a 1000 paid for dowloads, sorry but not great numbers. The graph is for actual newspaper and does not reflect footfall to Guardian online.

"a petty nutter who will never take responsibility for his own fáilíngs" OMG The Irony.

Calm down, Skinny-lite. It's just a covers album, it was never gonna set the world alight. The fact that it's the fourth best selling album this week during a massive shitstorm is pretty remarkable. Tuck your claws in and cultivate something resembling a life outside this forum.

Oh Peter, you wall-eyed buffoon...you really do make it very easy for us all.

The twat that keeps on giving...

Moz is always right in the end unlike Skinny cause Moz is a real life scientist whereas Skinny just pretends to be a scientist and only manages to impress RB.

It's (a) because he's a petty NUTTER, ...

From someone who rants about "fat-shaming" and racism, what a word to choose to describe someone you believe to be mentally ill.
You would never use the other "N" word but mental health?
Yeah,NUTTER?
oh dear oh dear.

I didn’t buy it cause it’s a covers album, doesn’t count to me as an original Morrissey LP, and I’d imagine many others are the same

The Guardian's sales figures are really bad. Which is great! They're right at the bottom of that chart.

Unlike Morrissey! Who btw, is number 4 in the UK chart and number 1 in the vinyl chart.

@ The Guardian When will you die? Pretty soon, looking at that chart! :)
