The Songs That Make You Want To Cry

Its quite late on and I'm probably being a wuss but there are just certain Smiths/Morrissey songs that just make me want to cry...namely, Well I Wonder, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and Dear God Please Help Me. What about you?

    Fancy Dress

I had the pleasure of going to someone's 18th birthday party last night and am hideously hungover today after playing drinking games with rugby players. ( :) ) It was fancy dress, I was Snow White and my friend was Batwoman. Who's done fancy dress recently, and what have you gone as?

    Friday Night

In on a friday night! Not preferable, but being appallingly skint doesn't help. So instead it is wine and Jonathan Ross. What is everybody else up to this evening?

What music player software do you use?

I normally use Itunes but I would ideally like a better software that looks slicker, you are still able to see all your music, and you have greater control over stuff like bass, treble, EQ etc... anyone have any ideas?

    Question for Oasis fans

Anyone know why the song 'Whatever' never appeared on any studio albums? I'm just curious. :)

    Favourite Board Game

This may seem somewhat geeky, but me and my flatmates have recently been investing in a few board games to avoid getting bored and sitting around watching telly. Unfortunately, its the end of term, and we're all far too skint to be going out every night getting wasted. But, I think my all...

    Again, Relationships Depress Me!

I am sick and tired of relationships and their politics. And not knowing where you stand. Here's a question, EDIT: well, two questions actually. is anybody in the same boat, and secondly - is it ever totally possible to want just one person only and fully, at one time? Or are we always...

    Hangover Cures

Anyone got any good ones? I'm majorly suffering today, and feeling really sorry for myself and my poor poor stomach. :(

    Earth Tremor - UK

Wow, anyone feel that? I'm in Leeds, in Uni accommodation, and our entire building (5 floors) just shook for about six seconds...very very very very scary!

    The Severed Alliance

Currently sticking my teeth into 'The Severed Alliance' by the infamous Rogan. It is actually borderline scary how detailed this book is. Before he even gets to discussing Morrissey, we are already well aware of the state of Ireland in the mid-20th century. From noting Morrissey's father Peter's...

    The Poetry of John Donne

Just wondered, is anyone familiar with "The Relic" by John Donne? The reason I ask is because as part of my course this year I'm studing poetry, reading and interpretation, and have to write an in-depth analysis of "The Relic" by John Donne. Just wanted to see whether anyone has read this, and...

    Alan Partridge

I think 'I'm Alan Partridge' has to be one of the funniest British comedies. Anyone else a fan?

    Morrissey/Jools Holland

Just watched it myself, for anyone that would like to see it, you can view it by going on www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer, and searching for it. The quality is fairly decent :) His performance is quite good, yet with it being in a studio he lacks his audience-driven energy and stage presence. Anyway...

Ian Curtis - Carved a Smile?

In David Bret's 'Morrissey: Scandal and Passion' he makes a reference to Joy Division and Ian Curtis, stating that Curtis 'carved a smile' in his face before committing suicide. I just wanted to see whether anyone knows whether this is this actually true? I have never heard this anywhere else...

    Fed up of relationships!

I hate not knowing where you stand with people, it is extremely frustrating. Sometimes I can totally see the plus points to adopting a Morrissey-esque position on relationships, and accepting being alone. Anyone else having such difficulties?
