i am 1oo% certain that stefan r once posted a picture of the german 7" on black vinyl. as far as i can remember the label said "unverkäufliches muster" which basically means that it is some sort of promotional copy which is not for sale. however, i never found out if this thing was actually a...
every once in a while i get lucky afterall. a local 2nd hand shop sold someones entire smiths-collection and apparently i was the first one to have a look at the discs. in the end i only picked out the rarer items. which were:
sheila take a bow GER blue sleeve 12".
william... whitelaw sleeve...
you mean the german multicoloured promo lp? that would be more than a bargain. congratulations! (the blue vinyl version is a bootleg, though).
I rarely find interesting/rare smiths stuff at my local shops. they would be overpriced anyway.
i bought both, the box and the individual singles. however, i would not do it again. there are no differences between the sets and the sleeves are printed cheaply. i would hold on to the box and focus on original releases. well, that's what i do.
have you checked other record stores in your...
yes, i think that's the one. i'm pretty sure that the record had a "buy it now"-price in the beginning. well, the final price of the auction is almost the same.
i still think that it should be possible to find one of those multicoloured lps in a record store somewhere here in germany. but i...
there was a multicoloured debut lp on ebay germany a few weeks ago. i think it had a fixed price of 500 euros. apparently, the seller received dozens of offers but he refused to go down with the price. now it's gone. 500 euros seems fair to me even though it's not a bargain.
true. however, you can never (!) be sure about the condition of an item when buying it online (even when it comes from second hand shops). got some bargains through ebay, too. my goal is to have my 7" collection as complete as possible so i use all ressources: shops (preferred of course), fairs...
just some basic smiths uk 7"s as upgrades.
btw: were all the uk 7"s released with a push-out center and later with a solid center? also, is there a solid-center version for the sandie HIG 7"? i have never seen one...thanks.
thanks for those scans.
it would be interesting to see a more recent list. i doubt that items like sandie GER 12" or any of the overseas stop me singles would still appear...
you might be right. however, i have the impression that us-sellers inflate the prices for smiths items, both on ebay and in shops (well, at least in those shops i visited during my brief visits to the usa). i find smiths releases much cheaper in europe...might have something to do with the fact...
that's true. althpugh most people are willing to ship worldwide if you ask them to (of course their idea of appropiate costs for p&p are often hillarious).
you have a chance to get the spanish HIG 7" here:
