"Also, lets not forget that Morrissey live shows have NEVER EVER been quiet affairs. Thats why I love them so much. Even the slow songs are loud and powerful".
Very True! I really like the sound of YOR - and there's plenty of older stuff to dig out if you fancy a more gentle sound!
I Love the album and it grow and grows and grows.....
My only gripe is that it is a very serious and "dark" Morrissey album, which is nothing unsual of course! However, all the themes and lyrics on this record are quite dark, maybe even more so than before. There is nothing wrong with that in...
Paris 7" single was sold out in HMV London Oxford Street. And that is *the* shop in London which should have everything! Asked the bloke who replied he wasn't sure if they'll get any more copies. Plenty of CD-singles left but no vinyl....
RECORD SHOPS ARE DYING
Steve Lillywhite - although I've got no idea whether he is even working these days? He produced some great Simple Minds albums in the 80's. My Favourite was "Sparkle in the Rain" back then - the album just sounded awesome. And of course "Vauxhall"...:thumb:
Or Martin Rushent. I would give...
Wow wow wow, calm down! Yes, I Fully agree, every Morrissey single is priceless. And I have also been lucky enough to be able to buy every single in the shops when they were released. But lets get people get on the bandwagon - it's not a too bad wagon to be on, eh?
But the sad thing is, none...
Yes, but #39 is a bit low for a Morrissey single, don't you think? The single did sell but not a lot - therefore there are lots of people paying £20+ on eBay because they didn't realise the value of it at the time. It's a GREAT single!
In my opinion there are only 2 weak singles:
1. We Hate it When Our Friends Become Succesful
2. Quija Board, Quija Board
I just think they are very weak tunes, no real spark to them...
Roy & Satan never charted but they were really good pop songs.
Somebody's selling YOR on UK eBay already - not the pre-order but the "real" CD. The cover doesn't look right to me though, the font is different....
But having said that, I bought "Tormentors" from a London market stall 2 weeks before it hit the shops and it was 100% genuine & sealed. So...
Sigh. I Love Morrissey for doing things like this. OK, it might be totally tasteless but....at least somebody does it. The "indie scene" is very serious, studied and a bit boring. And with all the "big" stars it's all very calculated and clinical.
But then there's Mozza who gets his band (and...
I will attend 12 gigs, all in the UK. The new credit card has just arrived
And I will probably end up bankrupt by the end of 2009. But luckily The Salvation Army is just around the corner from where I live...so I can have a meal there for 50 pence.
But you've got to live a little, eh?
Yes, the album really deserves 4/5. It just grows & grows. I was a bit cynical at first but when I heard it....it's Great. Amongst his best stuff.
Everyone I know seem to love "Paris"! How could you not??? I mean, we won't get another such a committed pop-star in zillion years.
Love it!
...Sorry a few more:
"I saw him on Jonathan Ross and I think he's a bit weird"
"Isn't he quite difficult?"
"He is very charismatic"
"I saw one of his videos and was surprised to see that so many people want to get on stage - why?"
This what people normally say:
"I don't understand why you go to so many Morrissey concerts"
"Don't you find him depressing?"
"Who? Van Morrisson?"
"He is very strange"
"I like one his tunes....whatsit called now...first of the gang?"
"Ooh, I didn't know he is still going"...
