The Smiths' "First" bassist, Dale Hibbert, played the Smiths first demo

Didn't john porter tell morrissey to go to vocal lessons or was it joe moss ? I'm sure i read somewhere that morrissey said that he detested the lessons and it was non- beneficial.. that may be complete bullshit from mozza, i agree.. I'm a vocalist too. I had vocal lessons to increase my...

The Smiths' "First" bassist, Dale Hibbert, played the Smiths first demo

Morrissey claims he had 'hardly' any vocal training '... some vocalists don't, they just improve the more they sing and the more they gain confidence...

"This Struggling Waitress Received a Life-Changing Tip From Morrissey..." - The Hard Times (parody)

Did it really happen or is it just a made up article so people can diss morrissey for being miserable again ?.. I've never understood the miserable label they attach to the smiths... the smiths and mozza are humorous ..

The Headmaster Ritual records - which is most sought after?

I think there are 4 versions of the 7" and 5 versions of the 12" .. I sold my sire maxi 12" years ago like a prat..but i still have the megadisc 12" and 7" and the 1988 cd single reissue... I cant remember without researching it, but i think on some versions there were mis spellings and...

    Johhny Marr Guitar

I'd go with the telecaster for now.. he used the rickenbacker alot live in the early days but the first album was recorded on a tele. There is some nice rickenbacker playing on 'hatful of hollow' - but the only song from that record where it is essential to use a twelve string rickenbacker is...

Johnny Marr Book Tour Dates US & UK

I agree that johnny marr was the most important member of the smiths. Without Marr its debatable if morrisssey would have ever made it in the music industry. I wasnt overly impressed by mozza's bio.. it worked in some places..though the court case seemed to drag on forever, but he is...

Who do you think comes close to Morrissey as a great lyricist?

He may be a great lyricist - but i can't stand listening to cohen.. i prefer it when others cover his songs..

What Morrissey fans do you hate

I don't 'really' hate mozza fans who say his solo work is better than the smiths .i just find them idiotic ! It was more of a tongue in cheek comment.. Nah- i dont agree that moz and his band have ever got close to Smithness !

Who do you think comes close to Morrissey as a great lyricist?

Jagger is still an accountant ! Money is the only thing he seems to care about... But during the stones golden era from lets say 1965 - 1977 i thought he wrote top notch and intelligent lyrics consistently... '

Who do you think comes close to Morrissey as a great lyricist?

Morrissey is the best even if we only judge him on his time with The Smiths... But second for me would be Mick Jagger. A brilliant and very underrated lyricist.

    Tribute band?

Mike patton is an amazing vocalist - nothing he cant sing. But if you aint a fan of FNM then fair enough.. they can be weird. It takes time to get into them.. they have some great tunes though. Staley and patton are the best vocalists i've seen live.. Cornell is hit and miss live.

    Tribute band?

Heres an excercise to build stamina - close your mouth and take a deep breath in through your nose for five seconds - then blow out through your mouth as hard as you can and for as long as you can, until you can blow no more ! Keep repeating this throughout the day everyday . Even on days when...

    Tribute band?

I am not a fan of audioslave or early soundgarden .. i love soundgarden superunknown and down on the upside..but my favourite cornell record is his debut solo album -' euphoria morning' we used to play covers of a few soundgarden songs in the early days.. yeah, great singer but he's no mike...

I dont mean to sound like i'm bragging or showing off - i am a very humble person without much of an ego...i studied singing at music college and have a national diploma in it.. i'm not saying i am an expert but i have always liked to help other singers so any advice you need - just ask.. I...

    Tribute band?

Johnny marr will always be better than anybody else at playing smiths songs because he wrote them ! There are thousands of amazing session musicians out there who can play anything you ask of them - but nobody can capture the feeling or emotion of the original artist..even if the original...
