Just received a photo of roadies at Bournemouth

I just checked the venue's website and saw this note posted: So now we know.

    Morrissey/Smiths posters

If you can find it, the 12" of "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get" has a lovely poster of the single artwork.

    Swords Cover Art?

I don't have a problem with the picture. It's the text I dislike - the typeface just doesn't look right at all, and doesn't fit any other Morrissey release.

    This Charming Man Manchester Version??

The Manchester version is the regular version, available as the 7" A-side, track 1 on the 12", and on the US and CD issues of The Smiths' eponymous album. The London mix is distinctly different, and is the second of the two versions on the 12".

    HMV / Parlaphone Statement

I've a couple of 12" singles (UK Panic, German Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others) with The Draize Train on. But I'd really like it on CD, too!

    HMV / Parlaphone Statement

It is indeed - however, I just can't seem to track down the CD single for love nor money. Hence hoping for its appearance on a reissue!

    HMV / Parlaphone Statement

I'm going to give this a miss. I already have both of the HMV/Parlophone boxed sets, and their sleeves look nice enough as it is; plus, the labels are replicas of the originals, including composition credits. What compelling reason is there to get this, too? The only compilations I'm looking...

Is there a song the you have trouble seeing as part of the Moz/Smiths canon?

I find much of the Kill Uncle era tracks challenging to listen to - "The Harsh Truth of the Camera Eye", "Asian Rut", "Journalists Who Lie" - they're either too long, too dreary, or simply not pleasant to hear. On the other hand, I immensely enjoy "Tony The Pony", with its eminently listenable...

I paid a mere £16 for my copy, with obi, via eBay.

Reschedule of RAH & Brum plus added dates in October 2009

I've managed to get a ticket for Bournemouth, which (being a Dorchester lad) makes me very happy considering I'd missed out on the Tour of Tormentors and the May dates. So hurrah!

    Your latest Morrissey/Smiths buy

I've managed to find a copy of the German "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" CD single, which is quite nice - gives me lossless copies of "I Keep Mine Hidden" and "Work Is A Four Letter Word", which I'd been looking for for what seems like forever.

I bought Hatful and Bona Drag today, what about Rank?

The World Won't Listen does have the advantages of the single edit of "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side" and "Money Changes Everything", which aren't available elsewhere on CD as far as I know.

Manic Street Preachers - Send away the tigers

I'm definitely going to buy the album on launch day. Going to see them live in June too!

    12" Pic Disc

It's a fantastic single, though I'm not too convinced on Sweety Pie. :D Still good to get all the B-sides from the different physical formats on one disc. I'm personally hoping the other YATQ and the ROTT singles get 12" releases, like First Of The Gang To Die and Irish Blood, English Heart did.

    Question about inner Smiths sleeves...

As well as having a discography on it, the Sheila 12" has all three songs' lyrics printed on the other side of the inner sleeve.

    Maladjusted

I love "Satan Rejected My Soul". Possibly one of the strongest closing tracks on a (Moz solo) LP. As for "Papa Jack", well... it's not one of his best. But it's not terrible, is it? Rather dull by his impeccable standards but not a bad song, surely. Oh yes, one more thing: "Ammunition" is...

How Kill Uncle should have been

Tony The Pony does get a lot of stick. I don't see anything at all wrong with it - great bassline, interesting lyrics... perhaps the only downside is the swearword near the end. Other than that, why does it get singled out? "The Harsh Truth Of The Camera Eye" is very difficult to listen to -...

have you bought the 12" pic disc single?

I've got just the one copy.

Moz blue box set £18 asdas

Thank you! Never would have thought of looking on Asda; I once did manage to pick up Joy Division's Substance in one of their stores but didn't know they sold online.
