I first came to this site because I liked his albums.
However as time moves on with no new material and Moz slowly but surley
morphing into Count Arthur Strong I'm not sure there's anything to admire any more apart from the (way) back catalogue.
All we have are rambling interviews, a very...
It appears that the subscribers here can fall into 2 camps. Those that see Moz as a role model and scrutinise his every utterance and action and those that are simply fans of his records. I'm sure there are those that fall somewhere inbetween aswell but I'll be interested to see how the poll...
The opinion that I've picked up on is that he is merely a lyricist. Marr, Street, Boz or whoever, write a song, send Moz a recording of the thing as an instrumental and our fella sings on top.
I find this a little hard to believe because you can hear a musical signature that is Morrisseys from...
A lot of posters seem to be of the opinion that the early solo days (up to Vauxhall and I) or his days with the Smiths were his best years and we are now witnessing his decline.
I believe that he is a great artist and continues to produce great work. Indeed, I think his voice is better than it...
According to many posts, the chances of Morrissey getting a recording contract are slim. Surely this cannot be so.
If Moz intends to retire at 55 (as he has said) then the next album his could be his last and if he doesn't bring one out soon there could be no more.
Moz, if you are reading...
Scattered about this site are various posts explaining why Morrissey is a racist or otherwise.
I'd like to think not but there are the songs and the comments.
If it is an unfair accusation it would be great to see all the arguments dispelled.
The comment that most concerns me is the chinese...
Knowing what we do about Morrisseys politics, which appears to be towards the nationalistic and with regards to animal rights, certainly quite militant, and being myself to the left, I would expect to find my enthuiasm for his music to wane. But this does not appear to have occured. I seem to...
In the Marr interview he refers to "the 'nonsense' off the original records". I have to be honest I was not aware of anything superfluous on the Smiths originals. What is he talking about? Anyone?
I have always bought the Morrissey albums as they have come out.
What annoys me are these re-issues and delux editions. I've never seen the need to re-purchase albums I already have.
Yet these releases have extra tracks. As a result I now find there are a plethora of tracks that I do not know...
Look at these 2 clips:

Is he a precious tosser or are these simply honest reactions to abuse?
I'm honestly not sure.
I'm relatively new to Morrissey-Solo and I keep noticing a lot of hostility to Morrissey-Solo and to individuals on various threads.
Does anyone out there know what this is all about?
We are hearing of all these new songs (Art Hounds, Scandanavia, Action etc) but where is the album? Does he have a recording contract? If it comes will it be better than Years of Refusal? So many questions.
As this was the album that immediately preceeded his period of inactivity it has recieved a lot of critisism. I got my copy from a remianders bin. For me it is a fine album with many wonderous tracks. I certainly prefer it Southpaw and Years of Refusal.
It would be interesting to hear the thoughts of other Morrissey fans on this.
In my opinion he does not appear to be going anywhere. His band whilst competent are not really the top notch musicians one would love to see Moz playing with. They are a bit ploddy, clunky and at best a good covers...
