Morrissey Central "Rebels Without Applause" (November 25, 2022)

    * Make Morrissey sound like a Smurf - check. It does sound like someone has asked - how can we make the guitars sound as much like Johnny Marr as possible. But it's a Moz single. I'm just glad we finally have something from BOT.

79p on Itunes UK. Has someone in the sales department recognsied that the production is sub-standard so they've knocked the price down from the usual 99p? If you can get over the poor production, it's a good pop single. Would sound great on the radio.

3 years. How did we cope?

Rebels Without Applause released as a single track - initially on some region's YT, now to buy & stream (November 24, 2022)

So great to have something released from BOT, even if the mix is more than a little odd. I know it's from a photo but the cover is slightly reminiscent of the cover of Coming Up by Suede. I wonder is Capitol testing the waters by putting this out first - to see how it sells? Maybe the whole...

The New Statesman: "Nick Cave: “I don’t think art should be in the hands of the virtuous”" - Morrissey mention (November 24, 2022)

Nick Cave is spot on with these comments. Virtue has always been very over-rated.

Morrissey Central IG: Minnesota & Milwaukee (Nov. 25, 26) now postponed (November 23, 2022)

Not looking good. What's the odds on the whole rest of the tour being cancelled / postponed until 2023?

Morrissey Central "THE YOUNG KIDS GET WHAT THE OLD DON’T UNDERSTAND" (November 23, 2022)

I think that's what many of us were thinking - well done for saying it!

Morrissey Central IG: Salt Lake City & Denver (Nov. 22, 23) cancelled due to band illness (November 22, 2022)

It is such a shame that misfortune seems to be striking the US tour. The shows in Ireland and the UK felt like Moz was riding on the crest of a wave. The wave has gone a bit flat, with the album now in limbo too. Very sad.

You can buy vegan fresh pasta. You can even make it yourself. So he's not a 100% strict vegan. We've all swallowed a bug by accident at some point in our lives. Not the end of the world.

There was nothing hateful about what Moz advised, I agree. I’m perfectly reconciled to the fact that the people will always revomit the same old parties into power. He's clearly suggesting what he had 'hit on' was advising people to vote for something other than the 'same old parties', to go...

He said he had no connection to a political party. Agreed. Never said he did. [He said] he wasn't a political activist. Agreed. Never said he was. [He said] he wasn't prejudiced. Agreed. Never said he was. But Moz did advise the general public to vote differently than Labour and Tory. And he...

Not sure from that if you think I was being patronising to you or to Karen? I’m sorry, goinghome, as you come across as a thoughtful and reflective human being. I perceived your post as fairly hostile and attacking, however, so I thought a bit of mild patronisation was a fairly restrained...

I think he means that he touched a nerve by suggesting that people should vote for somebody other than Labour or Tories in order to break the 2-party system. That's the 'something' he hit on that had to be attacked. And he doesn't regret advocating that. His only regret is that it didn't work...

I don't think Moz made a mistake. Moz is a clever guy. Moz doesn't think he made a mistake. He referred very clearly to the issue in the Q&A with his nephew in July 2021. No sign in that interview that he thinks he 'made a mistake' or 'didn't understand'. Just a sense of resignation and...

Mojo: brief Johnny Marr interview (issue 350 "January, 2023")

Although it does seem that Moz did some sort of 'guesting' on A$AP Rocky's still yet to be released album. Unclear though what exactly that guesting involved.

Yes, a minor blip on the trajectory of Johnny's career.

Not sure if I followed all of that. I would imagine he doesn't mention them because they were a bit of a damp squib. They are no more. They are a dead parrot. There is actually quite a lot we agree on, Karen. We agree that Moz isn't 'far right'. We agree that anyone who paints him as such is...
